In rain, the rain impact splash effect appears on most uncovered surfaces.

The environment can be heard from the inside, and the rain sound effect from the outside.

[PC] If you can't see the launch effects, you may need to go into skyrimprefs.ini (Documents\My Games\Skyrim) and increase the value of iMaxDesired in increments of 50 under [Particles] until they show up.

Fragments of the Shooting Star, Aetherius, appear in various sizes and fall from different locations in the sky during the night (8:30 pm to 6:00 am). Their general direction will change monthly.

Meteor showers (shooting stars with increased frequency) are guaranteed to occur on certain nights of the year. The dates they occur coincide with actual meteor shower dates for Earth.

Meteor storms (with greatly increased frequency of meteors) are extremely unlikely to occur each night. You can see them 2-3 times during the game year.

Innkeepers will host new conversations on the night of the event.

rainbow

Rainbows will appear when the sun is low (8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.), after the transition from rainy to clear weather.

In warmer areas of the sky, they may also appear with early morning dew (8:30 to 9:00 a.m.). These are much fainter.

[PC] The Object Fade advanced option in the Skyrim launcher (or fLODFadeOutMultObjects in SkyrimPrefs.ini) must be set to at least 10.

compatibility

Compatible with all mods. Loading order doesn't matter.

If True Storms is installed, the indoor rain sound effect will be automatically disabled.

Install/Update/Uninstall

Manual: See the manual installation documentation in the archive.

Mod Managers: Download the file and add it to your corresponding program.

Bethesda.net: Add to your library and enjoy.

This mod will automatically refresh every revision. When updating (manually or with the mod manager), simply uninstall the previous version and install the newer version.

When uninstalling, save in an internal location with no playback effects and then delete all installed files. Make sure WondersofWeather.esp and .bsa no longer exist in your Data folder.

Rainbows

They can also appear as a result of early morning dew (8:30am to 9:00am) in the warmer regions of Skyrim. These are much more faint.
