About this mod Machine translation
Added a "Run" button in VR to provide a third speed option between walking and sprinting.
Playing VR with very low movement speeds does prevent nausea, but there are times when you need to move quickly, and the overly stiff sprint system doesn't do much to eliminate that.
This mod helps you set the run button to move faster without the limitations of sprinting.
/u/DickDastardlyUK's Improved Touch Controls for Skyrim is a more intuitive control scheme, so I built on that.
I'm mostly sharing the changes I've made for myself. If anyone wants to use or conceptualize this idea, please go ahead. Credit is not really necessary.
If you use another control scheme, or don't use Oculus, please read the instructions below to learn how to set it up manually.
REQUIRED .INI TWEAKS
(Recommended) Bilago’s VR configuration tool
[Controls]
bAlwaysRunByDefault = 0 (otherwise the button will run while you hold it down)
fMovementSpeedPercent = 1 (VR movement speed slider controls walking/running speed)
WalkSpeedsAdjusted.esp
Placed near the end of the loading order.
Without this feature enabled, walking will feel much slower. Slightly adjusted the movement speed of playable races:
About +40% when walking, -10% when running, no change when sprinting.
Also fixed a bug where werewolf/vampire lords were unable to sprint from walking mode.
If it still feels too slow even with WalkSpeedsAdjusted.esp enabled, use the console command
Help "VR Speed Boost"
Find the ID of the VR Speed Boost perk and add it to your character using the following command:
player.addperk xx0012c6
Where xx is the loading order number of WalkSpeedsAdjusted.esp
Manual setup instructions
Step 1:
Under Data\Interface\Controls\PC there is a text file called "controlmapvr" which can be edited to remap the controls to different buttons.
(Default files and neat files in "Miscellaneous Downloads" if needed)
In the appropriate controller column, change "Run" from 0xff to the "Run" it is currently mapped to.
Step 2:
Set up a new Sprint button if needed. Combinations are allowed but should not overlap with the run button.
Step three:
Set button combination for "toggle always run". This isn't required, but it might help if Skyrim switches back to its default running state for whatever reason. This can sometimes happen when holding "Run", using the loading gate, and releasing "Run" before the new unit loads.

Playing VR with a very low movement speed does wonders for preventing nausea, but sometimes you need to move fast, and the overly rigid sprinting system doesn't cut it.
This mod helps you set up a run button as a faster movement speed, without the restrictions of sprinting.

Instructions for Manual Setup
Step 1 …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
