Visible subjects in Skyrim VR. Now with mod support.

VR Body-Version 2

Visible subjects in Skyrim VR.

Inverse kinematics is not currently supported. Instead, your arms will be fully extended.

Usual conditions:

Back up your saves.

This version of VR Body comes with an SKSE plugin that messes with all armor in the player's inventory, which can come with its own set of issues. However, it has been tested by the intrepid Billytpilgrim to report that it at least works and won't break your game. Many thanks to them for testing this plugin so you don't have to.

Additionally, there are some scripts that cause racial confusion, and these scripts must be used in conjunction with vanilla racial scripts (such as vampires), which may cause some more serious problems. Please note that the number of race changes has been greatly reduced since V2.

compatibility

VR Body V2 now features a plugin that should allow almost any armor mod to be used. Here are some armor modifications that have been confirmed to work:

immersive armor;

Skyrim Cloak

Bandolier Bags and Pouches (the armor makes your body invisible - fixed with this patch by Billytpilgrim);

Dragonbone black steel armor;

Winter is coming;

Luxurious temptation mix and match;

devious device;

XPMSSE compatibility patches are available in the Optional Files section. Load this patch after XPMSSE.

CBP Physics works, but it doesn't appear in first person. You'd have to ask the CBP guys nicely if they want to fix this problem, since they don't provide the source code.

Not compatible with:

VR armored hand;

Viewing your own VR works, but may glitch;

Sanctuary - Skyrim Vampire;

Any content that adds new races will not be in first person. They may also make your first person naked body invisible, but this can be solved by loading the race mod before the VR Body.

Install

Requires SKSEVR. exist

Install SKSEVR;

Install VR body;

Set bAlwaysShowHands=1 in "%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Skyrim VR" under [VR] in SkyrimVR.ini. If you don't have SkyrimVR.ini, please create it manually.

If you are short or tall, you may be stuck in your body or have a long neck. To fix this, you need to calibrate the height using the height slider in Pause Menu -> Settings -> VR, or via fVRScale=xx.x under [VR] in SkyrimVR.ini.

Changing the height slider will move the floor position, while fVRScale will change the scale of the world without changing the floor position. I recommend adjusting the height slider and fVRScale simultaneously until both bodies are the correct size and the partner touches the play floor.

The Sane value of fVRScale is between 60-80.

SkyrimVR.ini sample content:

[VR]

fVrScale = 69.0000

bAlwaysShowHands = 1

uninstall

If you do not uninstall this mod properly, saving will be interrupted.

Open the VR Body Configuration menu from Magic->Alteration;

Select "Safe Mode";

save;

uninstall.

If this mod was not uninstalled correctly, you can restore your save by reinstalling VR Body and uninstalling it by following the instructions above.

If it becomes incompatible with SKSEVR due to an update, the mod will automatically enter safe mode and can be safely removed.

notes

If you want the mod to work with a VR Body, avoid using both slots 48 and 60 on Armors & ArmorAddons. Any armor that uses this armor (and therefore causes problems with the VR Body) can be easily fixed with CK.

Your body is not visible when showing SteamVR controllers (with bAlwaysShowHands = 1, this happens when swimming and in menus).

Inverse kinematics looks like it should be possible, but would require a lot of work. It may happen later.

There is no way to fix (at least for me) the fixed animations and crossfire animations since hkxcmd only breaks these animations by converting the keyframe format to &. Anyone with access to 3DSMax's Havok content tool can resolve this issue.

Feel free to create your own fixes and add-ons for this mod.

Finally, I want to thank everyone on /r/SkyrimVR who pointed out the Broken Armo …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
