Nether Follower Framework
Looking for a multi-follower framework that is easily accessible in game resources and allows you to choose between animal or humanoid companions, just one or up to 10 at the same time? How about a system that also offers a ton of interesting features, including immersion and quality of life, allowing you to tailor the framework to your own playstyle?
Look no further, Nether’s follower framework is just that and more!
This mod has four goals:
- Compatible with as many other MODs as possible so you can use it with your favorites.
-Provide companion features that are familiar and useful but also engaging and fun.
-Make preferences optional and non-cancellable so companions (and your game) aren't broken along the way.
- Provides interesting options but also keeps it resource friendly and script engine light.
This framework is for followers using the default follower system. In other words, hook into standard dialogue to follow the quest (most companions in Knicks). However, there is also an optional feature that allows you to import custom minions so that they can also take advantage of many aspects of this mode (no guarantees, of course, but have been tested with many unique minions out there).
This mod requires SKSE and SkyUI, but these components allow me to offer you streamlined and attractive options without which this would not be possible.
NFF This is crafted by an avid follower with years of gaming and programming experience who loves bringing together a rotating cast of adventurers to accompany his dragon-born adventures across the horizon. For the nerds! (Aha.) Noz!
How to solve the following problems:
- Sort your emotions with Loot
-Put nwsPosterFramework.p at the end of your load order, even if Loot puts it somewhere else, I don't care where it goes. Heck, there's even a rule in Loot to put it last.
- Make sure no other mods are changing any core Pex scripts in the game, except SKSE. These are the core scripts (top):
Core characteristics
-Up to 10 followers (flexible, can be humanoid or animal).
-No bow and arrow.
- Explicit support for Serana and Sofia.
- There are many options, below, it's all your choice to set up a robust MCM menu. If you don't like something, chances are you can turn it off.
- Detailed PDF guide provided explaining all features.
- Optional (vanilla + DLC) script replacement if you have issues letting the framework "stick". There is also the option of RDO.
-3 DNPC is natively supported, just like vanilla minions. Make sure the option in FOMOD is checked.
sandbox
- Allow followers to enter the sandbox when you do passive tasks.
-Set the follower to only be in the sandbox in town.
-Automatic sandbox inside the city, your house or location is up to you.
-Toggle for any specific follower.
-Allow followers (and other NPCs) to the interior of multiple levels of the sandbox.
-Followers can be set up individually for crafting and/or interaction when playing sand. "Craft" isn't a simulation in that sense, but it does give them something practical to do while hanging around, with some minor conveniences/hobbyists. Interaction is currently limited to ordering drinks at the tavern.
Mounting/Riding Stand
-Allows followers to use the wild horses provided by this mod.
-Allow horses to disappear when not being ridden or have them stay nearby.
- Choose breeds and influence their horses, choose breeds globally.
- Riding package support is only provided if another mod provides a horse system, but not packages.
-Toggle for any specific follower.
fighting
- Set combat and non-combat range for followers*
-Place minions in healer or tank roles.
-Choose from 10 different fighting styles for your minions.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
