Moderate asset-free improvements to Vlindrel Hall (Alpha)

Today is my birthday! So I decided to post this one I've been working on.

A modest, asset-free improvement to Vlindrel Hall.

REQUIRES DAWNGUARD, HEARTHFIRES, DRAGONBORN

Cleared in SSEEdit and no errors.

  • Doors added to rooms
  • The bed becomes aristocratic and vampy, b/c no sane person sleeps on a stone bed!
  • Enchanting and Alchemy Rooms combined and reworked (no Alchemy upgrade pack required)
  • With all the crafting except the Wood Chopping Block, I can't find a good place to put all the wooden stakes it comes with
  • Children's room is enabled at the beginning
  • Bathroom in master bedroom
  • stove stove
  • Many named containers for organization
  • Added 1 mannequin
  • Navmesh has been adjusted

Alpha version, because it still has some, uh, wrinkles. I mainly used Live Another Life to test this, starting with Vlindrel Hall. There seems to be some kind of conflict between it's package enablement and Steward's house upgrade script because I bought the kids room package and absolutely nothing happened, which is why I started it.

None of the items added are connected to the upgrade package, they are just there. I could, but don't want to, spend too much time on it. You still need to buy all the packages to get everything.

I'm not sure if this is a real bug or just some glitch in my game, but you might be "walking on water" in the bathtub. Maybe the DB mesh??? I don't know...but it was fine until I always used the vanilla "bath" model. The database is pretty much the same, just more *brass*.

I believe this should be Skyrim VR compatible since it's all vanilla, but I won't know for sure unless someone tries it and lets me know!

XBox1?

Yes, working on it.

PS4?

It doesn't look like it. Originally the point of this NO ASSETS was that it would be available on PS4, however, even if I use NO EXTERNAL ASSETS, apparently even REFERRING in the Data folder counts as an asset! Blame Bethesda...or does it actually think it's Sony?

No-Mannequins version?

No, I like mannequins to show off my outfits. If you don't want them, disable them, or "mark for removal".

If they move around, you need the "vanilla mannequin script fix" mod.

I hope you enjoy this mod (it's definitely a pain getting all vanilla mods to move towards new features).

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
