A redesign of NordwarUA's excellent mod Heavy Nordic Armor.

These are my retreads of NordwarUA's excellent Heavy Nordic Armor mod. To use this mod, you must install NordwarUA's Heavy Nordic Armor mod.

My heavy textures are available in two versions.

The first is the black version, which I integrate seamlessly with the original mod as well as the black wolf and cave bear capes from CoS and WIC. It also integrates seamlessly with default Skyrim's various ebony weapons, and looks great with default silver weapons too. Premium ebony and silver weapon modifications will blend perfectly.

The second one is a dark brown version that I integrated with the wolf and capes from CoS and WIC. Like the black version, this version integrates seamlessly with a variety of default weapons from default Skyrim, as well as armor from the mod from Cabal's Silence Book (I've ported it, but I haven't talked to Cabal about making it available). Brigandage mod by Franklin Zunge. This retexture also blends well with other quality mods, such as Frank Family's.

I also generated a new cube map to give the polished surface a better shine and reflection, and to eliminate the weird red and black shadows around the seams of the default texture. The original cubemap looks great without any flaws. I just don't like the shading, so I drew a new map based on my personal preference. Cube mapping is integrated into every version of my mod.

Once NordwarUA's mod is installed, place my mod below Heavy Nordic Armor. Or if you want to make things permanent, just merge my mod with his so that my textures can override the ones in Heavy Nordic Armor.

Remember: Smash the Endorse button on the NordwarUA mod page!

——————————————————————————————

These are my re-textures of NordwarUA's brilliant Heavy Nordic Armor mod. To use this mod you must have NordwarUA's Heavy Nordic Armor mod installed.

There are two versions of my re-texture to choose from.

The first is the black version, which I made to seamlessly integrate with the original mod and the black wolf and cave bear cloaks of CoS and WIC. It also integrates seamlessly with the various ebony weapons of default Skyrim, and looks fantastic with the default silver weapons as well. Quality ebony and silver weapons mods will integrate perfectly.

The second is the dark brown version, which I made to integrate with the wolf wolf and bear cloaks of CoS and WIC. As with the black version, this version integrates seamlessly with the various default weapons of default Skyrim, as well as armors from mods like Cabal's Book of Silence (I have ported it, but I haven't talked with Cabal about making it available) and Franklin Zunge's Brigandage mod. This re-texture will integrate perfectly with other quality mods as well, such as those by Frank Family.

I also generated a new cube map for better luster and reflection of the polished surfaces, and to get rid of the strange red and black shadowing around the seams of the default texture. The original cube map looked fine and there was no flaw. I just didn't like the shadowing, so I made a new map according to personal taste. The cube map is integrated into each version of my mod.

Once you have NordwarUA's mod  installed, place my mod below Heavy Nordic Armor. Or, if you want to make things permanent, simply merge my mod with his, allowing my textures to overwrite those in Heavy Nordic Armor.

And remember: smash that Endorse button on NordwarUA's mod page!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
