About this mod Machine translation
Brynjolf plastic surgery! Completely independent follower, marry him, ride a horse, set up a home, sandbox, all completely vanilla voiced.
Notice!
If this mod is a few years old now, finally decided to get it done! I've tested this and a few others have done so, but it needs more! If you try this, please let me know how it goes. Brynjolf's own vanilla quest AI seems to be overriding my own Follow script, thus requiring completion of the TG questline. Otherwise, he will walk away and not go with you.
Brynjolf and Vex are finished and available for recruitment!
emphasize:
New gorgeous face, hair, eyes!
Fully voiced, all vanilla voices
Recruit as an enhanced follower
If you are a woman, please get married
His own horse, Angus (along with the entire Scottish cast!)
The default body mesh and textures in the game
chat:
After TG03: Dampened Spirits, "Let's Talk"
Let’s talk about your gear: choosing...
- Nightingale (if TG08A: Trinity restoration is completed)
-Farm clothing, random without hat
- His regular rogue armor
- Exquisite clothes, random without hood
Give him a gift: if you have a drink, a book or a dagger
Helmet switching: Do not automatically unlock the helmet during combat (enabled by default)
Ask him to fight with you: do nothing but interesting lines. I don't know that this is actually done.
What are you drinking? : Hotel, random
What is a fake smile? : Start a romance (females only), see Romance below.
Brynjolf Gift Player:
If you take him to your house, he will give you a weapon (not finalized)
romantic:
Begin the romance after TG03: Dampened Spirits
You can take him to the Players for a drink :)
Asking about marriage after TG09: Darkness Returns
Asking again after TGLeadership: Becoming a Guildmaster
Go to Mara Temple to get married. (New solo quest; vanilla marriage quest unchanged.)
troubleshooting:
If you are stuck and unable to move at the wrong time/place, cc "coc RiftenTempleofMara"
Vex, Delvin, Tonilia and Karliah are *supposed* to go to the Temple and be witnesses, so hopefully it happens, and if not... well I want to figure that out.
recruitment:
Ask about concerns after TG03: Damping Spirit
Recruit anytime you are actually allowed to talk to him (most of his topics are blocked by default due to ongoing rogue quests)
Horse riding, walking, sandbox and other artificial intelligence:
Below: Completely independent of vanilla framework
Let him ride anywhere outdoors (not in City Worldspaces).
If the player rides, he will automatically ride, and he will dismount when the player dismounts.
While he's riding, you can let him walk.
- Troubleshooting: If the Walk dialog box does not appear, cc "Set AnBrynjolfRideHorseForce to 0" puts him back into "Walk" mode.
Sandbox for any "safe" location: house, town, hotel, etc.
Warp-to-Player: When following, teleports to you if he falls behind or separates.
Call Brynjolf Power: Similar to Warp, call him if he's too slow or lost.
- Only when already an active follower.
- If he doesn't pay attention yet, this isn't your lazy way to bring him to you.
Set Home: Take him to any player's home and let him live there.
Fired and Sent to Inn: All Vanilla Inns are insured.
Depends on Inns' static markers being enabled correctly, so if you have any mods that change those, please be aware.
Vanilla bug fix:
- Initial Forcegreet: Package distance reduced to "0" so he won't grab you until you click on him.
- Fixed 4 greetings for Brynjolf who was too busy to talk, also fixed as Brynjolf Always Busy Fix by WhiteFox69
- Brynjolf will look at the Player when you name the Guildmaster.
Do you know the "Brynjolf Bugs" from the base game? I would join them if I could. Let me know!
compatibility:
Should be compatible with ANYTHING (except other mods that change Brynjolf, of course).
Men of Skyrim (Oldrim) - Loading AFTER as MoS also edited Brynjolf
UFO/AFT/EFF: Works seamlessly with these, just ignoring each other.
- If you happen to be able to use these dialogues on Brynjolf, you shouldn't …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
