Purist's Vanilla Patch attempts to preserve the original creative vision of Skyrim Special Edition in a heavily modified Skyrim game, without interfering with the functionality of other mods.

Purist's Vanilla Patch** has 1200 records, which is almost the same as Vanilla. About half the way through the record I made some small changes to make Purist's Vanilla Patch as compatible as possible with the various Skyrim modder lists without stepping on other modder authors' toes or rights. No non-original assets were used in making this file.

If you have any suggestions for records that should be added, deleted or changed, please feel free to contact me <3

There are no requirements for this document.

It is recommended to load Purist's Vanilla Patch in the middle of the loading order. If you have a large mod to make sweeping changes, it is recommended to load this patch later. If you have mods that change NPCs, weapons, spells, or the like, it is highly recommended that you load these mods after Purist's Vanilla Patch so that they can function as expected. As with all mods, I also strongly recommend that you review the conflicts in xEdit to determine the best place for this mod in your load order and, if necessary, create an override patch that forwards all needed changes for your own perfect Skyrim experience :)

Purist's Vanilla Patch seeks to preserve the original creative vision of Skyrim Special Edition in heavily modded Skyrim games without interfering with the function of other mods.

There are a total of 1200 records in Purist's Vanilla Patch which are almost identical to Vanilla.  In approximately half of the records I have made small changes to make Purist's Vanilla Patch as compatible as possible with various Skyrim modlists without stepping on the toes or rights of other mod authors.  No non-vanilla assets were used in the making of this file.

This file has no requirements.

Purist's Vanilla Patch is recommended to be loaded somewhere in the middle of your load order.  If you have large mods that make sweeping changes, it is recommended to load this patch afterward.  If you have mods that alter NPCs, Weapons, Spells, or similar it is highly recommended that you load those mods AFTER Purist's Vanilla Patch so that they can operate as intended.  As with all mods, I also highly recommend looking at conflicts in xEdit to determine the best location for this mod in your load order, and if necessary, create an override patch to forward all desired changes for your own personal perfect Skyrim experience:)

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
