Easily perform NIF fixes/tweaks to remove water fog seams/meshes/patches in Vanilla Skyrim and the excellent Morning Fogs SSE.
I admit this isn't an ideal solution, but it does a pretty good job. The only drawback is that the fog will be higher, leaving some gaps between the fog and the water. But this is only noticeable when swimming (but here's the thing - no one swims in Skyrim much) or really notice it, but it's not that noticeable or scratches the eyes like it used to.

Easy NIF Fix / Adjust / Tweak to eliminate water-fogs Seams / Grids / Patches in Vanilla Skyrim & in the wonderful Morning Fogs SSE.
It is not ideal fix I will admit, but it does job quite nicely. Only downside is that fogs will be a little higher, making a little empty gap betweeen fog and the water. But it is only noticeable only when swimming (but truth is - nobody swims a lot in Skyrim) or truly paying attention to it, and yet it is not so prominent or eye scratching (like before) at all.

Installation
Use Mod Manager.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
