Useful magic staff
Requires SKSE and SKYUI
No lengthy instructions.
UMS is basically an overhaul of Magical Staves. UMS focuses on incorporating and actually using the staff to add adjustments, making it useful even in the final stages.
Mod features:
- There are 3 Syrabane Artifacts scattered throughout Skyrim that will unlock the true power of a staff member. You can view the locations in the images section of this mod. All of these artifacts increase in power as your Charm skill grows. This can be adjusted via the MCM menu.
- Using MCM, you can modify the cast time of almost any staff from 0 seconds (instant cast) to 3 seconds. This will change the gameplay as you see fit, and you can also modify the power of the 3 artifacts. Want a longer cast but a very powerful stave? Or the other way around? It's your choice.
- A minor aesthetic overhaul, I added Staves of Skyrim meshes and textures.
- Added some staves missing from the game: Firestorm, Blizzard also added a Conjure Seeker-like track (Conj.Seker's staff can only make it after defeating miraak).
- Enhanced staff "Conjure atronach" with some adjustments: removed chain lightning from storm atronach and added lightning bolt and thunderbolt with elemental potency, incinerated atronach on fire, increased melee damage of frost atronach.
- Build this model so that every employee you might equip will be registered! In fact, the enhancements also work with other staves from various other mods!
- Magelight staff can project infinite balls of light, so you can finally light up those dark dungeons with your staff!
- Soul Siphon can now be used on staff if you kill a target with staff
The weakest soul will be consumed and his double cost is increased
Staff are responsible.
- Some staves will provide you with passive physical or special spells to use with other staves or spells! There are special traits and spells here:
Magician: (Banish or Soultrap staff) Reduces the cost of magic spells
Healer: (Healing Staff) Reduces the cost of restoration spells
Affinity to (Element): Fire perks and Forget Destroy targets reduce damage from that element
Akatosh's Wrath, Ice Trap, "Walls..." are the perks of the staff, and you can cast special runes that make the target travel and fall down.
Soul Link...: Staff's perk "Conjure atronach/Familiar" Your spirit is bound to the atronach and you will gain magic, stamina, and health boosts.
Modular Sound: Illusion Staff perk, shape your sound to your will, (-5% or -10% Shout cooldown and +5 or 10 Sepeech skill boost)
Light Speed: (Vampire Bane, SunBane Staff) Increases movement speed
Alterator: (MageLight Staff) Greatly reduces the cost of altering spells.
Acid Breath: (Magic Seeker) You can cast a cloud of acid on your target.
Build this module to work with:
La Bella Magia - A simple outline
Agent of Mora - Major Spell Pack Compatibility
Power of Tomes - Immersive Magic Zoom

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
