About this mod Machine translation

Completely combine vivid weather and realistic storms into a single weather system.

Welcome to my Vivid Weather and True Storms merged compatibility patch.

The patch is

Vivid Weather Special Edition - A complete weather and visual overhaul for Skyrim SE

and

Real Storm Special Edition - Thunderstorm and Weather Reworked

However, this is not a simple overlay patch, but a complete merger of the two mods into one experience.

Loading order recommendations

1: "Real Storm" Special Edition

2: Vivid Weather Special Edition

3: "Vivid weather and realistic storms" MCP (this patch)

This patch will not work without both mods.

This load order is what I personally use, if ordered incorrectly the patch may not work properly.

Not required and will override Vivid Weather - Extended Snow/Rain ESP (or you can override them, but you'll also lose the True Storms sounds in all the heavy rain)

Not fully compatible with Vivid Weather - Winter. True Storms' unique weather will be lost when using winter, but all effects will still remain

Currently offering version compatibility

Vivid Weather SE: V1.62

True Storms SE:V1.01

What this patch does:

1: Use a combination of True Storms and Vivid Weathers in all valid weather

2: Allows the sound of the two modules to be controlled separately through the audio slider

3: Implement all-weather real storm rain and snow particle changes

4: Implemented vivid weather lighting and effects changes to all "True Storm" weather

5: Fully added all True Storms unique zone changes to the Vivid Weathers Expanded weather system

6: Enable True Storms internal sounds (includes vivid weather effects) during all storm weather conditions

7: Fixed the "hearing rain but seeing snow" problem of "Vivid Weather" (particle input error)

8: Fully made the Vivid Weather "Control Manual" work properly with True Storms' unique weather (no grayscale night vision when night light level is set to Doom = P)

There is now an optional download that allows compatibility between Vivid Weather and Realistic Storms MCP with Wet Cold. If you want Moist Heat and Cold to fully coordinate with the new Ember weather added by both mods, and include 3 unique Moist Heat and Cold Ember Storms, download the "Moist Cold Optional File".

The two options include an ALL ON ONE patch, which combines all three mods in one go, and a patch, which adds the Slim Cold patch to an existing MCP patch.

*Minor Disclaimer*

This patch was not created directly by, nor is it assisted or associated in any way with the creators of the original weather module. In all views/views/potential considerations, this is an unofficial patch. Certain issues present in the base mod can and will appear in this mod, and any Vanilla Issues with these mods will usually appear here.

This patch partially restores Solestiem's vanilla gray weather. To do this, change the Ash region's Vanilla Weathers to Vivid Weathers visuals. This was done only in volcanic ash areas and was done to personal preference to restore the feel of the area and completely ensure that the many unique weather introduced to the area by real storms would not be out of place. Vivid Weather replaces gray zones with copies of normal Skyrim weather by default, but adds some unique "mild drop" weather to the zone list. These unique vivid weathers remain in the changed regional weather list and are consistent with the modified TS and Vanilla Ashlands weather.

Some other personal creative license was also taken, mostly to ensure that True Storms' unique weather didn't look out of place with the vivid colors and lighting overhaul.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
