Unofficial Creator Club Update - Nix-Hound
With this addon installed, My Pet Nix-Hound will no longer launch after you load the game, and sale notifications will no longer magically appear in your inventory. Instead, it appears on the Retching Netch bar. Reading it will start the mission. After that, everything will continue as normal. Additionally, Nix-Hound is now functional. He can attack and be attacked (he's essential, so he won't die). Additionally, I increased his level from 2 to 10, so he can carry more and gain a little more combat power.
I will update this mod as I find further issues and/or areas for improvement in the Nix-Hound files. If you find anything you'd like me to change or have any suggestions, please let me know in the comments and bug reporting sections!
Note that this will not stop the mission once it has been started, so is best used on saves where "Nix-Hound" has not yet been loaded. However, you shouldn't encounter any game-breaking issues.

Install
Make sure you download and install Nix-Hound from Creation Club.
Download and install the patch, preferably using NMM or MO. If you want to do it manually, it should be as simple as dragging and dropping the .esp and script files into the "data" folder.

uninstall
Uninstall the patch using the mod manager, or delete the .esp and script files from the "data" folder. This should safely revert any of my changes to vanilla. However, as a rule, Skyrim does not support uninstalling mods during playback, and this practice should be treated with caution.

Unofficial Creation Club Updates - Nix-Hound
With this plugin installed, "My Pet Nix-Hound" will no longer start as soon as you load up the game, and the Notice of Sale no longer magically appears in your inventory. Instead, it appears on the bar at the Retching Netch. Reading it will start the quest. After that, everything will continue as normal. Additionally, the Nix-Hound has now been made Actually Useful. He can attack and be attacked (he's essential so he won't die). Also, I've increased his level from 2 to 10, so he can carry more and put up slightly more of a fight.
I'll update this mod as and when I find further issues and/or areas to improve in the Nix-Hound file. If you spot anything you'd like me to fix or have any suggestions, please let me know in the comments and bug report section!
Please note that this will not stop the quest once it's already been started, so is best used on a save that has not yet been loaded with "Nix-Hound" installed. You shouldn't run into any game-breaking problems, though.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
