Unique elven armor variants - aMidianborn and true light elven armor

This is a modder's resource that adds different looks to Elf armor variants: Light, Normal and Gilded. The included guide uses Midian textures for all three variants, while the actual Light Elven Armor mesh is used for the light variant.

This is a modder's resource that adds different looks to Elf armor variants: Light, Normal and Gilded. The accompanying guide uses the MididBorn Elven Armor texture for all three variants, and the Truly Light Elven Armor mesh for the light variant. Shown from left to right in the screenshot: Elven Light Armor set, Elven Armor set, and Elven Gilded Armor set.

You'll get the following results using my guide:

Elf light armor

The Elven Light Armor set found on Thalmor soldiers will be given a new look with Truly Light Elven Armor mesh and aMidianBorn Elven Dark texture.

Each piece adds a forging crafting recipe.

Armor statistics are consistent with WACCF.

Elven Armor

Elven armor sets found throughout the game will have a new look, using vanilla mesh and aMidianBorn Elven Dark textures.

Elven Gilded Armor

The elven gilded armor (breastplate) found in the vanilla game has been expanded into a full set of armor, including a shield.

The Elven Gilded Armor set will get a new look with vanilla mesh and aMidianBorn Elf Gold textures. The texture set also uses a bronze cube map to give the armor an extra glossy look.

Each piece adds a forging crafting recipe.

New armor pieces including the Gilded Armor set are included in the level list, following the same progression as the vanilla breastplate.

The Thalmor Gilded armor set will be filled with new armor pieces.

Armor properties are consistent with WACCF, but armor ratings have been redistributed across all parts of the group.

This guide assumes you are using Mod Organizer 2. If you are using another mod manager, it is up to you to decide how to adapt this guide.

While this guide does not require you to use WACCF, the author recommends that you use it since the armor stats are consistent with it.

Step 1: aMidianBorn Elven Armor Texture

In your web browser, navigate to aMidianBorn Elven Armor's Files tab.

Click on the "Mod Manager Download" button for AMB Elven dark and AMB Elvenshield dark. These two are usually installed using MO2. If you have previously installed the Elven Dark texture that comes with aMidianBorn Book of Silence Armors, you can skip this step.

Click on the "Manual Download" button for AMB Elven gold and AMB Elvenshield gold.

Right-click on the overlay in MO2 and select "Open in Explorer". Before proceeding, make sure your Overwrite folder is empty.

Extract all contents from AMB Elven gold and AMB Elvenshield gold files into the Overwrite folder.

In MO2, right-click on "Overlay" and select "Create Mod". Name it "aMidianBorn Silent Elf Elf Gold Texture for Different Elf Armor Variants".

Double click on the mod you just created and navigate to the Filetree tab. Drill down the file tree until all folders are expanded.

After you expand all folders, delete any files whose names end with _m or _n.

For the remaining six files, prepend "gilded" to each file name.

Close the mod details window and activate the mod you created.

Step 2: Real Light Elf Armor Net

In your web browser, navigate to the Files tab for Truly Light Elven Armor (Male) - Replacer - Standalone.

Click the "Mod Manager Download" button for separate male and female TL elven (grd model included) - SSE.7z. This is the only file you need! It includes male and female meshes. Install normally using MO2.

In MO2, double-click on the Truly Light Elven Armor mod you just installed and navigate to the Filetree tab. Delete or hide LTAJC_LightElvenArmor.esp.

Close the mod details window and activate the mod.
