Improved the appearance of Understone Keep in Markarth
Understone Keep Fountains and Rubble Overhaul the three main open areas of the keep and one room behind. For the sake of description, the main areas are the entrance hall, the main hall and the Calcelmo hall. I wanted to improve the overall look and feel without straying from the vanilla theme.
Note that I did change the lighting in the main hall. This shouldn't cause any crashes if you're running a module that changes the internal lighting, but things may look weird and the shadows may be unstable.
What this mod does in detail:
Removed most of the ruins from the three halls to make it look less like a ragtag bunch that moved a week ago (with nice furniture). This required changes to the flooring of the entrance hall and the stairs from the entrance hall to the Calcelmo Hall. This also required some minor edits to the entrance hall navmesh (navigation was not ruthlessly removed when this mod was created).
"Fixing" the ceiling in one of the back rooms where the ceiling beams were not lining up. I basically added a set of vents (so I think the room stays nice and toasty).
Two fountains with small pools were added to the corners of the main hall. There are also two sloping waterfalls flanking the steps leading to the throne room. I think all the awesome waterfalls in the interior lack a water system. I did increase the lighting in these corners so the fountain isn't hidden in shadow.
Improved the balcony area of the entrance hall to make it easier to access and provide navigation services for entourage. Some small aesthetic changes and additions (chairs, plants, etc.)
Improve the appearance of the throne room by adding building items with more Dwemer metal.

What this mod does in detail:
Removed much of the rubble from all three halls to make it look less like a bunch of rabble (with really nice furniture) moved in a week ago. This required changes to the floor of the entry hall and the addition of stairs from the entry hall to Calcelmo's hall. This also required some minor editing of the entry hall navmesh (no navmeshes were ruthlessly deleted in the creation of this mod).
"Repaired" the ceiling in one of the back rooms where the ceiling beams did not line up. I basically added a set of vents (keeps the room nice and warm I would think).
Added two fountains with small pools in the corners of the main hall. Also added are two sloping waterfalls flanking the steps up to the throne room. I figured with all the awesome waterfalls right outside the interior was lacking in the water department. I did boost the lighting in these corners somewhat so the fountains would not be hidden in shadow.
Improved the balcony area in the entry hall, making it easily accessible and navmeshed for followers. Some minor aesthetic changes and additions (chairs, plants, etc.)
Improved the throne room appearance by adding architectural items with more Dwemer metal.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
