This mod restores several world interaction events that Bethesda intentionally disabled: "Haunting" and "Mourning". Both of these situations occur when the only NPC dies.
Haunting: When a unique NPC dies with a family member, there will be a random chance of being "resurrected" as a ghost after a period of time and following the relative for the rest of the game. Only NPCs come with generic voice files (don't expect to see Ulfric as a ghost), and there's only one NPC in the entire save. You won't be able to fill Skyrim with ghosts (that's how Bethesda left them).
Mourning: When a unique NPC dies with a family member or friend, their relatives/friends will make some comments about their loss during the greeting dialogue.
They all feature Bethesda's original voice audio and will play in the language of your Skyrim installation.
Requirements: None
Incompatibilities: Unknown, but there's unlikely to be many, the mod is too small and too specific, but who knows.
I asked the original author for permission to update the mod in August 2019 - the file is small and does contain the original 2015 BSA if anyone is interested. It only contains one script so it can be kept loose. I've also merged this mod before so it can be used with the merge plugin or SSEdit merge. I know of zero issues with it and it works great. Please download the original LE mod and leave a thumbs up to the original mod author vagonumero12 and thank him for this very cool and unique mod. Thanks!

This mod restores a couple of world interaction events that Bethesda left disabled on purpose: "Haunting" and "Mourning". These both happen when an unique NPC dies.
Haunting: when an unique NPC with family dies, there will be a random chance that it will -after some time- "resurrect" as a ghost that will follow a relative for the rest of the game. Only NPC with generic voice files (don't expect to see Ulfric as a ghost), and only a single NPC in the whole save. You won't be able to fill Skyrim with ghosts (it was left like that by Bethesda).
Mourning: when an unique NPC with family or friends dies, their relatives/friends will do some comment about their loss to you on their hello dialogues.
Both of them have the original voiced audio of Bethesda, and they will play in the language of your Skyrim installation.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
