About this mod Machine translation

A mod that turns Silent Moon Camp into a larger bandit camp to satisfy my desire for forts and towers, as well as making the moon landing's enchantments and forges better, and making Silent Moon Camp accessible.

Thanks to my friends Simon Magus and Andrealphus, their feedback was invaluable in improving the mod and motivating me to actually complete it.

The Silent Moon Camp is a ruined Norse building around which the bandits built a small camp, supplementing the existing structures with their own when needed.

I took that and turned it up to 11.

Silent Moon Camp is still a ruined building, but it has expanded in every direction. There are more walls and more towers, where ancient ruins have crumbled and gaps are bridged by palisade structures, merging the decay of Norse ruins with the tenacious bandit fortress industry and continuing to raise the question of which bandit is the secret skilled carpenter and structural engineer.

In addition to the extensive modifications to the camp, a few other changes were made.

Reawakening the Mooncast

In the vanilla game, the Silent Moon Enchantment is a very scary enchantment. It's only active half the time, its visuals are boring, and the damage isn't very good - without an unofficial patch, it doesn't even do damage. The in-game notes say it's supposed to be vampiric, but will be marked for fire damage.

I decided to correct this discrepancy and make Lunar Damage a competitive enchantment and give it a more interesting visual effect. So I edited the vanilla Silent Moon enchantment and added two new versions. One is a modified version of the basic enchantment that increases damage as the moon fills up, and the other is a more effective health-absorbing enchantment.

After awakening the Lunar Forge, any weapons crafted there will have an upgraded version of one of the three monthly wards, depending on the degree of awakening the Lunar Forge. The Moonforged Notes book has been updated to provide some cryptic clues on how to proceed. Alternatively, you can read a more specific description in the spoiler below.

Claim Silent Moon Camp

Silent Moon Camp can be used in Whiterun Keep, Empire or Stormcloak. This uses the Lawbringer framework. If you do not have the frame activated, this mod will disable the ability to claim factions. No matter which faction you side with, guardsmen rarely have the opportunity to spawn with lunar versions of their conventional weapons.

Silent Moons Camp is still a ruined structure, but it's expanded a bit in every direction. There's more wall and more towers, and where the ancient ruins have collapsed, the gaps are bridged by stockade structures to create a blend of the decay of nordic ruins and the tenacious industry of bandit forts, continuing to beg the question of which bandits are secretly master carpenters and practicing structural engineers.

In addition to heavily modifying the camp, there are a few other changes.

Reawakening the Lunar Forge

In the vanilla game, the Silent Moons Enchantment is a pretty terrible enchantment. It's only active half the time, it's visual effects are boring, and the damage isn't very good - it doesn't even do damage without the unofficial patch. The in-game notes say it's supposed to behave vampirically, but instead it's flagged as fire damage.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
