About this mod Machine translation

Provides many new variables to adjust Skyrim's trade and barter prices, including merchant gold, trade limits, inventory respawn rates, and more.

Trade in Skyrim is too simplistic to make any sense. A merchant of a particular type always has the same amount of gold and offers you exactly the same price as a merchant of the same type in another part of the country. There is very little difference between a merchant in a small town and one in a large city, and the only factors that affect price are your speaking skills and any bartering magic you may have. This model aims to change that. How much it changes is up to you.

F eturs

Fully customizable - choose only the features you want to use. Each variable can be fully adjusted or disabled.

Merchant prices depend on a variety of factors such as faction level, connections, and race.

Location affects price. Goods are cheaper in small towns and more expensive in big cities.

A merchant in a big city will have more gold than a merchant in a small town.

Investing merchants will increase the items in their inventory.

Select to change the number of days required for merchant inventory recovery.

Optionally adjust the barter price to control the overall price and how much your presentation skills affect the price.

REQUIREMENTS

Requesting Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.

Requires SKSE and Patio - These are required in order to use the MOD configuration menu to adjust features and options. If you don't use SkyUI, you can still use this mode, but all options will be set to default.

COMPATIBILITY

Features in this mod will work with merchants added by other mods (assuming they have been placed in the appropriate faction).

I designed this to be a very lightweight pattern. It uses a carefully set set of additional conditions to accomplish almost any change. The only scripts included in the mod are the MCM scripts that control the menu options. I've made every attempt to keep this mod as compatible with all other mods as possible, and it should be fairly compatible with most other mods without the need for a patch. If you are using a mod that modifies some of the things mentioned below, you may need to adjust your load order or disable certain trade and barter options to eliminate any conflicts between mods.

Speech Perks - This mod changes the text descriptions of both speech perks, so if you are using another mod that changes the investor or master trader perks, you should load that mod after trading and bartering and allow it to overwrite my changes.

Tiered List - This mod changes the "Vendor Gold." Tiered list that determines merchant funds. It also changes the "PerkInvestor." rating list. If you are using any other module to change these level lists, then you will need to decide whether to load it before or after trading and swapping. If Trade and Barter is loaded last, it will overwrite any changes made to these level lists by other mods. If the level list of trades and barter transactions is overridden, then the merchant's gold options & "change in inventory at the time of investment" will most likely not work.

Containers - This mod also changes the commercial containers for Khajiit merchants and consort merchants. It will conflict with other MODs that directly alter these specific commercial containers.

Trade and barter introduce many optional factors that can affect the price you get when buying and selling items. Each of these variables is completely optional. You can set any option to zero and/or toggle it if you don't want to use a specific feature.

Knowledge - It pays to know what you're selling. The more you know about what you're selling, the better prices you'll get when dealing with equally knowledgeable merchants. When you understand your product and you know it's real value, you can negotiate better deals.

The blacksmith will respect your skills in forging and give you better prices the higher your forging skills are.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
