describe
Touch Gesture VR is a mode where spells are equipped by drawing gestures on the VR controller touchpad on the main hand. On the main hand Vive controller, the touchpad (not pressed) is not used for anything other than menus. But when you draw something on it with your finger, the game keeps sending events. This mod captures these gestures and matches them with predefined symbols.
These symbols are assigned to dragon tongue words.
These are the symbolic names: Yol, Fo, Qo, Laas, Spaan, Diil, Prodah, Ahkrin, Rahgot, Nahlot, Faas, Golz, Nos, Sik, Pah, Qah, Wol, Bel, Mul, Lun, Gro
Important stuff:
When players first load up the game they are given a book called the "Big Book of Gestures". This book has all the glyphs and their names on it. By default, it also contains all spells contained in the configuration and their dragon tongue names.
Basic spells have a gesture name like Flames = Yol, Sparks = Qo, Frostbite = Fo
High-level spells have multiple gesture requirements. These gestures should be drawn one after the other. So for Firebolt you have to draw Yol and Nos within 1500ms (changeable in configuration). For Firestorm, you have to draw Yol and Nos three times within 1500 milliseconds. This is easy because Nos is just a horizontal line.
The gestures you draw are recognized after you lift your finger off the touchpad.
By default, recognized spells apply to your hands. To equip a spell to a specific hand, you need to draw a left slash "\" or a right slash "/" after the spell's gesture setting.
Gestures are not detected when you are in the menu. So when you're in a menu, you can use the touchpad like normal.
This mod comes with an esp file and script along with some textures and an SKSE plugin dll. The stuff other than the dll is just for the book in the game and handing it over to the player, and also for the force release spell functionality. Everything else is done in the SKSE plugin.
When starting the game automatically by appending a character name such as Flames - Yol's original name, the spelling name is changed. You can disable this feature from the ini. Note that you should do this before starting a new game, as changes will be saved to the save game.
key assignment
This mod also has a Key assignment function. You can assign gestures to keys and have them run immediately (instead of waiting). For example, by default, a straight (vertical) line maps to a jump (space) button. So now you can cancel the regular jump button like I did and use it as needed. These can be configured in the ini file. Please note that this feature requires Skyrim VR to be the active window.

FAQ
Q: My gestures are sometimes not recognized. How to improve accuracy?
A: You can draw the glyph slightly to increase the recognition percentage. Point cloud algorithms require points to work. If you draw very fast, unfortunately there won't be any points to compare to. So draw the first glyph slowly and the other glyphs a little faster to stay within the time limit.
Q: I can't draw fast enough for high level spells. Basic level spells are always equipped. Or I'm not drawing fast enough to draw left or right hand glyphs.
Answer: Add NextGestureWaitDuration setting from configuration. The setting is milliseconds. The default value is 1500 milliseconds. This should be enough for most people, but you can try 2000 if you want.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
