About this mod Machine translation

This mod makes your character completely different from any other NPC in the game. Only your character will use this body and face/head textures and mesh.

Function:

This mod allows your player character to have a fully customized character. This is where I overhaul my previous unique player mode.

**The reason I list this as a separate mod rather than just as an updated version of this mod is that this is a complete overhaul of this version.

I haven't seen the mechanics of it, but this mod functions the same as d_rail1602's mod for Oldrim. I don't know if his/her mod is the same as mine, but it's basically the same.

I've created custom versions of all 10 vanilla races, both male and female, as well as their vampire counterparts. You will still be called Argonian, Breton, etc., but your racial identity will be Bretonraceplayer instead of Bretonrace, etc. If you become a vampire instead of a Bretonracevampire, you become a Bretonracevampireplayer.

You will have your own unique body and face. To illustrate this, the way I tested to make sure it was working properly was using a different body type than other characters, a unique player on the player's forehead, and a tattoo mode that replaced the body texture instead of working as an overlay adding makeup or warpaint in the match menu.

TL; DR:

You can have your own unique face and body textures and meshes. Everything else works exactly the same, you're still tagged as one of the vanilla races, i.e. breton, nord, etc., it's just that your hippie has changed (from bretonrace to bretonraceplayer)

When you enter the show's match menu, either at character creation or via the console, only these unique matches will be displayed. In order for it to work properly, this mod needs to be at BOTTOM/END/LOADED LAST in your load order. If you don't load it at the end of the load order, it will still work, but there will be a duplicate entry for each match, for example: Brittany will be listed twice, Nord twice, etc.

Since this is exclusive to Skyrim Special Edition, meaning you have all the DLC (it does use assets from Update, Dawnguard, and Dragonborn ESM), the only mod requirement is the RaceCompatibility mod. Both the Racecompatibility.esm from the main mod and the Racecompatibility.esm available from Enhanced Character Edit will work. If you choose to ignore it and don't have RaceCompatibility.esm installed, it won't crash to the desktop or anything, but if you decide you want to play as a vampire it won't work because there's no competition for you to change to, meaning you'll remain the same race as you were before the vampire.

A) Installation:

  • This is easy to install, just use your mod manager, or if you want to do it manually, it shouldn't be a problem as long as you know what you're doing.
  • Put meshes and textures into the correct folders. For meshes, regardless of race, you'll put meshes for the head, body, feet, and hands into either the male player or female player folder, depending on the gender obviously. For textures, if you are playing a human/human race, the textures for the hands, body, and face will go into the Male Player or Female Player folder. Argonians will come as male player Argonian or female player Argonian, and Khajiits will come as male player Khajiit or female player Khajiit.
  • It is safe to install MID-GAME. All you need to do is get your current player character working into the console, which if you were "bretonrace" before, you would: setrace bretonraceplayer and POOF, your now unique player version. If you were a northern vampire you would go into the console: setrace nordracevampireplayer etc. Assuming you put it at the end of the load order as per the instructions, you won't notice any difference from normal if starting a new character, all player races have the same name, appearance, attributes, etc. They just use meshes with textures from different folders instead of vanilla.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
