version:
2.0 ported to Skyrim Special Edition
Overview:
This is a simple mode that emits an audible breath from your character when your health/stamina/mana drops below a certain percentage. As your health/stamina/mana decreases, the rate at which you breathe increases. This is a player-only effect that automatically sets the male or female voice effect based on your gender.
By default, breathing triggers once your health and/or stamina drop below 50%. To better suit your play style and/or game mode selection, you can configure which resources (health/stamina/mana) trigger breathing, the percentage and volume at which they will trigger. SKSE64 and SkyUI are required for configuration, but are not required to run the mod with default settings. There are no plans to synchronize breathing with wet and cold breathing effects.
Install:
Manual installer places files into the Data folder. NMM/BAIN: Download the master file and add to your corresponding program.
compatibility:
Compatible with all mods. Loading order doesn't matter.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
