About this mod Machine translation
Make the members of the Thieves Guild wait until the beginning of the Trinity Restoration to tell you their life stories. No more weird intimate conversations with people you just met!
Have you ever wondered why the Thieves' Guild becomes such a stranger to new people? Tired of Sapphire, Vipir and everyone else who treat you like an old friend the first time you talk? Me too! This solves the problem so that they postpone having super familiar conversations until deeper into the questline, especially at the beginning of Trinity Restore. Until then, you'll see less familiar conversational greetings, but before that it's mostly mute.
If you have already started the Goldenglow task, you need to manually enter "set TGtalkgate to 0" in the console.
This is my first time doing something like this, so let me know if it causes problems. Especially if you have any ideas on how to fix them.

Ever wonder why the thieves guild gets REALLY, REALLY weird around new acquaintances? Tired of Sapphire, Vipir and all the others treating you like an old friend the first time you speak? Me too! This should fix it so they hold off on the super familiar dialogue until deeper in the questline- specifically, near the start of "Trinity Restored". You'll see less familiar dialogue greetings until then, which was all but dummied out before.
If you've already started the Goldenglow quest, you'll need to manually enter "set TGtalkgate to 0" into the console.
This is my first time doing anything like this, so let me know if it causes problems. Particularly if you have some idea how to fix them.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
