About this mod Machine translation
A rebirth of my old food mod. Requires alchemy potions and food adjustments, and expands on the bland feel of the food system provided in this mod.
If you know me, I love modeling food. I don't know why but "The Magic of Food & Drink" has definitely been an ongoing project (over and over again) for a long time, especially if you've followed me back to Legendary Skyrim. Sometimes your ideas seem to mesh with those of other authors. Once I found the alchemy potions and food adjustments, I knew if I were to do an alchemy overhaul, this is what I would do. Props for skepmanmods.
So, what does MOFADreborn do?
- First, I added new alchemical ingredients and foods that can be found in other creatures in Skyrim.
- I've diversified the food effects that are starting to happen in APFA. No more just a 5/15/20% boost. Variations in food range from 3% to 12% or more. It is now possible to generate more food effects. For example, milk has a chance to cure poison. Apple dumplings to improve your recovery skills.
- New food recipes! Like grilled mustard meat or grilled wolf ribs. Some recipes lack cooking options, such as "Grilled Rat Mat".
- Almost all food ingredients are useful. Carrots have been incorporated into different recipes. Salt must also be removed from certain ingredients. Frost Miriam and other home spreaders can be used in your cooking.
- All foods have been divided into different categories in your UI and renamed to make them easier to find. It took me some time to sort the drinks, especially since I had to research how to make them in Lore to find the right place.
- All new foods and treats introduced from the fire have been incorporated into the Inns' food list.

If you know me, I love making food mods. I don't know why. But "The Magic of Food & Drink" has been an ongoing project (well on and off again) for a pretty long time really, especially if you followed me back on Legendary Skyrim. There are times though when your ideas seem to mesh with those of other Authors. When I had found Alchemy Potions and Food Adjustments, I knew this was how I would have done things if I were to make an Alchemy Overhaul. So props to skepmanmods.
So what does MOFADreborn do?
- Well first, I've added new alchemy ingredients and food items to found on some of the other creatures in Skyrim.
- I have diversified the food effects that were started upon in APFA. No more just 5/15/20% boost. Foods can range anywhere from 3 to 12% in range, and maybe more. More food effects are now possible. An example would be that Milk, has a chance to cure poisons. Apple Dumplings, boost your Restoration Skill.
- New food Recipes! Like Seared Beart Meat, or Seared Wolf Ribs. Some recipes which were missing cooking options, like Seared Rat Mat.
- Almost all food ingredients have a use. Carrots have been incorporated into different recipes. Salt's been removed as a necessity from some ingredients as well. Frost Miriam and those other household hanging plants have a use in your cooking.
- All foods have been organized into different categories in your UI and renamed to be easier to find. It took me a while, to categorize the drinks especially I had to research how they were made in the Lore to find an appropriate placement.
- All new foods and foods introduced from Hearthfire have been incorporated into the food lists at Inns.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
