The real shady story
Guess who's back, back again, Shady's back, tell a friend.
…. No one wants to see Marshall again
This mod puts Shady Sam in some warm clothes and gives him something to do. It's a patch, so the original mod is required.
Well, if you want shady stuff….
You may or may not be aware, but Arthmoor's alternative start - Living Another Life - SSE adds Oblivion's NPC Shady Sam. Shady Sam is a merchant who deals in invisibility-related and stolen items (The Elder Scrolls Wiki). But, in his current state, he's a crappy old man hanging around Dawstar. No wonder he had a bad temper and froze his assets in a robe.
this is what i give you
Shady Sam now wears the standard Thieves Guild suit. He will help anyone and any crime is acceptable. He is now a fence and will buy stolen goods. Now, his vendor's chest is filled with large quantities of poisons and daggers, as well as wares for aspiring thieves.
But I feel so empty without me
Shady is not at Dawnstar. Now he's wandering the sky, stopping in all the places you'd expect someone with a Shady character to see. On weekends, Shady spends time drinking and enjoying life at Riften. Shady should not be underestimated as his level and fighting skills have improved.
Install
Install into the Skyrim\Data folder using your favorite Mod Manager. In the load order it should be under "Alternate Boot".

Arthmoor - keeps all his great mods and shared his modlist with me so I could see how he fits into Open City. I've been a patron ever since and it still forms the basis for all my mod releases.
Marshall Mathers
The modding community seeks inspiration
Special mention to MNIKJOM and their awesome mod AI Overhaul SSE. Of course, this isn't a requirement for this mod, but I was able to learn from his excellent use of AI.

Clean with TES5Edit
future plans
I'd like to add some other unreliable activities, and I'll consider doing so. I also wanted to add some "hired muscle" to escort him to his various locations while also providing some heavy armor training.
Thanks for reading to the end...and take note

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
