This mod adds a unique ornate Nordic style late game sword for those who want a believable and authentic looking weapon. The materials and lore used with Elderscrolls are heavily influenced by real swords from the Viking Age. Beyond Skyrim: Roscrea previews the quality you can expect.
This mod can be used as a thief, showcasing the style and quality of Roscrea items. This is just a single sword obtained through a simple fetch quest (I'm a person with asset abilities and don't usually do that in implementation, so expect better quests), but the sword is an excellent choice for the late game 1h swordsman who wants a weapon that feels more authentically Norse, rather than an abstract or crude weapon like most high-level options. This weapon is lore-friendly and balanced, it's not the ultimate best sword in the game, but it's good enough to be a contender as a primary weapon.
While the base damage is slightly lower than the Ebony Sword, the unique "endurance" enchantment allows you to deal higher raw physical damage than any other one-handed sword's base damage, but also swings slightly faster due to its lighter mithril construction (also the lightest high-level sword to date). This can be completed with silver ingots if the player has the Daedric Smithing and Arcane Smithing perks.

The Sleeping Giant Inn in Ognar Riverwood has a book with backstory that will provide background and quest to find it to the right of the bar. The book can be found elsewhere, in the Blue Palace in the throne room area, in Bard College on a table near the entrance to the library area, and more. Reading the book first to find it, and then reading it after you've found it (which is difficult, but theoretically impossible), may lead you to an endless quest.

According to legend, the leader of the Thunderbear Cult of Rosko wielded a sword of mithril, gold, and garnet. Stories of enchantment vary, but most mention that it gave the magic bear its power.
During the reign of Uriel V, the Empire launched an invasion of Roscrea, which ended in a tenuous peace with the natives making concessions in exchange for greater autonomy. These included the surrender of the sword, a trophy in the proud emperor's palace to confirm the success of his latest wave of conquests.
However, to the people of Roscruz, this term was unacceptable and was considered symbolic castration by the chiefs who had fiercely defended the island. His reluctance to give up his arms and challenge his rule from within will certainly result from this. He mocked the term, ordered a replica, and specified that this weapon should be used in place of the real sword of his ancestor. Even though it was only a forgery, it was crafted to such an exceptional level that it could outperform and defeat most items in the Emperor's own arsenal in order to convince the Imperial forces. Mimics the original enchantment, although by all accounts this ending is increasingly rare. The original weapon has never been seen since, suggesting it too has been lost, or that the replica's story is little more than gossip from the last century.
However, no blade could reach the Emperor. During the voyage to the continent of Tamriel, the ship carrying the ship is said to have been blown apart and crashed into the rocks of Pilgrim's Trench, and its crew is now lost in the Sea of Ghosts. Although Uriel's time in Age of V aroused great suspicion, this was quickly overshadowed by the disaster of the Battle of Akaviri and Uriel's death.
If the legend is correct, the blades linger in the depths, remaining rust-free over time due to their mithril construction. The Ghost Sea is still as dangerous as it was in the Third Age, and there is no adventurer who has not yet reclaimed this powerful and beautiful weapon.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
