The Lofty Loft SSE - Thalmor themed house

Original author: Jokerine

Converted to Skyrim Special Edition (with permission): GenlyAi

This is a small house created by Jokerine and ported to SSE by me, located in Solitude. Given its theme, it's a perfect fit for the Thalmor member characters, but obviously anyone can own the place. This loft is located in Solitude next to Fletcher. You'll find the key around the crops next to the entrance. The house is also marked on the map.

This is a demonstration video of the mod made by bittu0812. Thanks!

If you like this mod for SSE, please go back to the original Skyrim page after endorsing it here: http://www.skyrim/mods/53084/ and endorse it there too!

As Jokerine said, it works here too (checked by me): the file has been cleaned with SSEEDIT, does not require any DLC (although you have them anyway), is fully navigable and has no scripts, so it can be installed and uninstalled at any time. However, as a precaution, as always, save a backup before installing. For this conversion I used the fixed esp file provided by slygeezer which fixes the "Angel's Missing Door bug".

The image upload tag on the mod page should be open to everyone! So, please encourage me to upload some nice pictures (my screenshots are not good)

I don't have any consoles (i.e. XBOX) so I can't port this mod to them for the time being (nov/1028). If anyone wants to do this, please contact me so I can wrap it up with the necessary permissions. No promises, though.

Please note that uploading this mod (original or SSE) in whole or in part as a paid mod is completely prohibited.

Additionally, the Donation Point System has been completely disabled in this new version. Absolutely disrespectful to Jokerine. (The donation feature is also disabled for this page).

I converted this house to SSE as-is and it will remain unchanged, which means:

For full instructions, visit the original page:

No content will be added or removed (including thalmor content), this is a complete conversion;

However, I will provide SSE-related bug fixes if needed, create SSE mod-related patches (if possible), and answer comments.

Watch out for the barrels, they will respawn. Everything else is safe;

There are still Skyrim-related bugs, such as the creepy "walking model" bug;

This house is compatible with My Home Is Your Home, although not suitable for multiple uses of Hearthfire (or in general since lofts are not built for that). As far as I know, "Spouse Can Be Anywhere" has not been ported to SSE yet. So, maybe, consider this a bachelor pad? :)

I decided not to package the meshes/textures into .bsa files because of too many bugs and issues seen in other SSE mods.

I also tested the house using ELFX Enhancer, you can see a few screenshots in the "Images" tab. I think it looks nice (even if comfortable) and isn't too dark, but mileage may vary. If you want to specifically exclude EFLX changes for this house (or exclude it from any lighting mod), you can do that in xEdit or CK. I can provide guidance if anyone asks.

Install:

Download and install it via a mod manager such as Vortex or Mod Organizer2;

Alternatively, manually extract the contents into the "/steamapps/common/Skyrim Special Edition/data" folder. Then, activate the TheLoftyLoft.esp file.

Uninstall: First, obviously remove everything from the house that you want to keep for yourself. Then:

Deactivate the mod on your mod administrator;

Alternatively, if removing manually, delete the TheLoftyLoft.esp file as well as the folders /meshes/loftyloft/ and /textures/loftyloft/ on the Data folder.

Compatibility (as of November 2018):

Not compatible with Open Cities.

November 2018 News: I was trying to upload an Open Cities compatible version of this mod, but unfortunately I had to give up because it ran into some clutter and door issues. If anyone wants to provide a patch fo …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
