Added a unique Divine Crusader themed arm gun based on the ridiculous "Pelinal (Animated Opera)" Youtube video, which depicts Pelinal Whitestrake as having a Mega Man style arm blaster. Complete a mini treasure hunt to find Pelinar's greatest weapon, his "left hand is a killing light!"
"Because his left hand was made of murderous light, he was the Perinal of the White Stone; he was the bloody Perinal, because he drank victory; he was the Perianal rebel, because he gave the Crusades a face; he was the victorious Perinal, and when the two words finally became synonymous, the militants thanked the eight as they saw his banner passing from the war."
- "The Song of Pelinal", No. 1
Known as the Pelinal Whitestrake, he is the scourge of Elvenkind. With savage hands he led the Allessian slave revolt and brought ruin to their elven overlords. He was given eight powerful artifacts, gifts from a god who showed compassion for the plight of mankind. With this power, Pelinar wiped the Aelai from Tamriel, paving the way for the Imperium of Man. But the story is about the ninth gift, the gift from the missing God. "His left hand is the killing light." Arhat's gift. It is called the Doom Drum because its power embodies the death that Erwinkind fears. But Pelinar's appetite knew no bounds, and at his fatal moment the gods wrested the weapon from his hands and hid it far away, so that no one else could ever use its power...
I recently watched this ridiculous but awesome video:
In it, it depicts Pelinal Whitestrake, a futuristic killer robot complete with Mega Man arm blasters. After delving deeper into this lore, I discovered that this is not far from the truth, and that "The Song of Pellinar" mentions his "left hand made of killing light." Inspired by this, and inspired by Mahty's recent Dwarven Arm Gun mod, I decided to make my own weapon that provides [very loose] lore-based reasoning behind such a ridiculous weapon and makes it accessible to players.
This weapon is a slight modification of one of Mahty's Dwemer weapons, with modified textures that match the Holy Crusader's armor and weapons. It should be overpowered. I created some lore and short quests around it to make it slightly lore friendly. Since it's hidden by the gods, it takes a little digging to find, but there's a letter in the Drunken Huntsman that will point you in the right direction.
For the full experience, you may want to download my Pelinal armor mod, which replaces the Knight of Nine with something more consistent with the all-white armor he wears in the video. Get it here.
The weapon is set up as one piece of armor (technically a ring), which when picked up adds two more pieces of armor for use as separate firing modes. Equipping one of these "modes" will add powerful abilities (think "ammo") in the form of an invisible staff. Since it's an invisible staff, you can technically use it with one hand, or even use them with both hands. Mahty does this, but I haven't been able to think of a better way. There's really no way to stop you from using them incorrectly, so you have to play some role. However, unequipping that "mode" or dropping the primary armor will remove the added items, so it should keep you from over-exploiting it.
-When you equip the main version, it appears in a retracted version, pulled back above your wrist so you can still use the weapon normally. This will also add the "Energy Shield" ability, which is a combination of a magic ward and a regeneration spell and a shock cloak; it will protect you from damage while it heals you, and damage everything around you.
-When you equip "Ranged Mode" it will display an expanded version and add the "Energy Bolt" feature, which is a concentrated energy blast similar to the original Dwarven weapon model. The projectiles it fires travel in a straight line and explode with a devastating impact.
-When you equip "Battle Mode" it will display the short barrel version and add the "Energy Beam" feature, an overwhelm …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
