Make small changes to balance the game without going too far.

In the base game, the matches are simultaneously not well balanced and mostly irrelevant. Many mods try to solve this problem, but most go too far. In keeping with my "vanilla+" vision for mods, I decided to make something smaller. All ten games now have useful useless powers and powers, but are balanced against each other and aren't so overpowering that you shouldn't pick any of them for any purpose. Importantly, I haven't personally touched the race records (not even orc, they are all passive now). This only affects passives and powers, nothing else. This makes it very compatible with other mods.

The changes to the game are as follows. These are in addition to the effects of existing abilities and powers.

Altmer: In addition to rapid magic regeneration, Highborn Power now also applies a +25% boost to the power of all spells you cast (duration or amount depending on school). The Highborn passive now also doubles the effect of the Soul Gem when charging a staff.

Altmer is very good and doesn't need much improvement. High School in particular has been a useful power, but since it's basically a free magic potion once a day, it's been a bit boring. My solution was to add additional effects that are also the same as drinking potions. This will stack, so the Altmer are now capable of more powerful magic than any other race, if only briefly. Additionally, altmers are better at keeping their employees charged. Their double charge of the staves is perfectly suited, but still welcome.

Argonian: In addition to quickly regenerating health, Histskin now allows you to share nearly half of your melee damage with your attacker. Animals have been renamed to Scales and Amphibians, and they now add 50 armor and +150% health regeneration in water.

The Argonne people need a lot of love. Histskin is decent, but just as boring as Highborn. Now it doesn't just make you take damage, it encourages you because enemies will hurt themselves. The Argonne is more intense in this active melee combat. For added durability, they now also have some thick extra armor. As a cool bonus, they also now regenerate health faster even when Histskin is inactive but only in water. Standing by a stream, swimming, or being outside in the rain will trigger this. Argonians can now swim for therapy and you'll feel very lucky on rainy days!

Bosmer: Command Animal is renamed Master Hunter. After 60 seconds of activation, you gain +50% archery damage and a 30-foot cloak spell that constantly forces nearby animals to remain calm, even when attacked. When it ends, any animals it affected remain non-hostile. Passive renamed Nature Affinity and now includes +50% Stamina Regeneration.

Within the scope of the Master Hunter, animals are constantly at peace. When it disappears or leaves range, they remain non-hostile as long as you don't attack them repeatedly. Smart use of Command Animal can give you the freedom to walk outdoors without fear, and you can turn an entire forest into a safe zone (which will remain non-hostile even after respawning). This can also be used for fairly cheap hunting. Because it uses the same method, if you use Animal Cry of Allegiance, it will cancel this permanent non-hostility when it ends. With the Hunter Master providing bow damage and naturally increased stamina regeneration, bosmers are finally becoming the great archers they are supposed to be.

Brittany: Passive renamed Aegis and now includes a smaller ward while blocking.

Brandon didn't really need anything so I gave them a small but still cool benefit. Bretons are now the only race that can naturally block spells. While blocking with a shield or weapon, they gain 40 wards. It breaks fairly easily, but that's something other races don't have. Brittany is a truly unparalleled master of magical defense, if only barely. This will stack with any other blocking blocking effects, such as Spellbreaker or the Lightning Rod perk from my two-h …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
