About this mod Machine translation

This mod allows you to marry almost any NPC in the game without having to go through vanilla quests and weddings.

Who says only Marla can bring you and your soulmate together?

The Nords have their own ways, and Talos can now bless your love alliance.

Long story short, I made this mod for my roleplaying because I make a lot of NPCs myself, and I like changing the main story, so I'm always interested in having marriage dialogue with only a limited number of voice types, and if you try to marry some unorthodox NPC, it will ruin the ceremony, or make it difficult for you to propose, etc.

Since this seems like a no-brainer, I thought I'd share it with all you romantics out there.

This mod is also for those who want to marry some unique NPCs that need to be stuck in a certain location or tied to some important quest that would break the game if they moved or did something else.

So how does it work?

  • Go to Windhelm and enter the Temple of Talos. You will find a priest named Tiberius. Talk to him and he'll explain everything you need to know (very similar to the Mara quest, you buy the ring instead of the amulet).

-Equipment rings.

  • You can now propose to almost any NPC in the game (except children, animals, and ghostly creatures). I tried to include most human/humanoid speech types. There is nothing else to gain, no need to befriend them or do quests for them. Even if they are married. Just go out there and ask questions. (Some NPCs may have mandatory dialogue before you propose to them).
  • As soon as the NPC replies "Of course", the mission is completed and they become your spouse. They will be added to your marriage faction at the level of Lover. (I've included some voice files where I generated the answers using Xvasynth, but due to the large number of voices I didn't finish them all, and some NPCs won't have voice replies - you can use Fuz Ro D-oh to fill in the gaps, but it's not necessary).
  • Nothing else will happen. Your spouse won’t move, open a store to give you money, or cook for you. If they have romantic lines, they'll greet you with them, call you my love, etc., but that's about it.

So what's the point?

This is mainly useful if you have a mod like Flower Girls or similar, allowing you to spend some fun time with your spouse or enhance the marital experience in some way. I personally tested it with Flower Girls and it works great, you can kiss after getting married, etc.

Also, the key is not to break the game, the main quest, and everything by relocating NPCs to places they don't belong.

This is called love for unlovable people because they can get some love and still go on with their lives and duties.

Available in SE and AE.

Other quick questions:

Can I marry Serana?

certainly. (She will reply with her voice). You don't even need to complete the entire Dawnguard questline.

Can I marry Elisif, Ulfric, Brynjolf?

Yes, yes. They'll still keep doing their thing, but you can go back to them and enjoy some romantic time when you like.

Can I marry a random guard/soldier or that chick 353 who looks cute in a remote hotel?

Almost yes. I only found a few supporting characters that didn't work, like Mr. Pelagia somehow. The downside is that non-unique, randomly generated NPCs can die or disappear if you don't use another mod to make them follow you, so I wouldn't recommend doing that.

Can I get married more than once?

No. The task only works once and that's it. Make wise choices.

Can I get a divorce?

No.

What if my spouse dies “accidentally”?

Sorry for your loss, but, like I said, it only works once.

What if I'm already married?

For technical reasons, Talos is not recognized by the Empire, and such marriages are not 100% legal, so you can go for a secret spouse, but the game will always refer to your "official" spouse interactions.

Can I still do the Mara quest and marry someone else?

The reverse doesn't work either. The game will know that you already have a spouse and that Marla dis …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
