SU'MMER is a game expansion for Skyrim with comprehensive scope and a unique "universal" design philosophy. SU'MMER includes 12 modules, each designed to expand an underpowered game system or balance an overpowered game system by introducing new game mechanics.

Melee combat======================

Problem: In Skyrim, the best defense is usually a good offense, and that has almost zero timing. Against the game's brutal, predictable enemies, heavy weapons are slow, blocking is a tedious affair, and dual wielders and spellcasters don't even offer the luxury of having to resort to button mashing and kiting to end combat in order to defend.

Solution: Timed dodge provides a high-risk/high-reward alternative to blocking and increases the speed and mobility of combat. Just tap the dash button while moving sideways or backwards with your fists, weapons, or spell boosts. Take advantage of unused vanilla dodge animations.

Solution: Parrying opens up defensive options for dual-wielders and spellcasters, and helps balance the power and surprising power of two-handed weapons by punishing their sluggishness and predictability. Swing a weapon or fist at your opponent's moment and you yourself will be seen as a blocker, staggering the opponent and mitigating damage.

Shooting skills======================

Problem: The skills are too powerful, and the shooting technique provides an irresistible advantage against the game's clunky AI opponents, which has sent countless diverse and promising Dragonborns down the well-worn path of stealth archery.

Solution: To make archery more difficult and stamina drain, the screen (and controller) will shake when drawing a bow or loading a crossbow, making aiming more difficult and encouraging careful timing of shots to maintain stamina. Shock intensity is configurable, with the option to extend to spellcasting and melee weapons.

Magic======================

Problems: More than previous Elder Scrolls games, Skyrim suffers from a lack of spell variety, with old favorites and even universal primary spells disappearing only to be replaced by boring fire/ice/shock/heal spell classes. While Skyrim brings a lot of interesting new magic archetypes to the table, many of them are only available to players as Shouts.

Solution: Legacy Spells brings the best of Morrowind and Oblivion, including Alteration spells like Jump, Slowfall, and Mark & Recall, Summoning spells that summon classic bound weapons and armor, Destruction spells that drain attributes and resistance or deal pure magic damage, and Illusion spells that silence enemy casts and provide shelter from incoming attacks. Restoration probably benefits most from the classic stat and resistance buffs, the reflect and absorb spells of the disparaged school of mysticism, and the offensive spells that use poison to torture the living.

Solution: New spells draw on Skyrim's expansion of shouts and scripted progression to create an entirely new playstyle for mages. Throw opponents in the air and distract them with suspicious noises, teleport through space and manipulate timelines to bring dead allies back to life, change the weather at will, and hold time in your hands. These spells are presented in the most lore-friendly way possible, and are particularly beneficial for those roleplaying non-dragon characters who use mods to disable the main quest or dragons, but still want to use the powers provided by the Shout.

Solution: Necromancy has always figured prominently in The Elder Scrolls lor …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
