A blurry, better defined version of Night Eyes. Designed to simplify identification and allow enjoyment of the environment with minimal intrusive effects.
subtle night eyes
The purpose of this version of Night Eye is to allow players to interact and view Skyrim with less intrusive nighttime visuals, while still retaining nuances in color and clarity.
feature:
Just replace the standard night eyes. no script involved
Just click to close. (Every activation turns it on or off because the duration is set to null.)
Bloom less, define the environment better.
There is a very small amount of subtle edge blurring at the edges of the field of view. This helps indicate that the eyes are active at night.
A hint of green. Set to a value of 2 so that the color is not washed out, just slightly different to help define the shape.
Fade in and out of a shared color palette for smooth transitions.
Good brightness to help in dark environments. But still retains the sense of night vision.
Now available in a lighter version for use with compatible ENB* to darken everything. Available under Files.
There's also now a darker version, with a more nighttime feel.
Currently related to general nighttime eye effects, it edits directly. No new features are added to the menu. All functions and effects that utilize the Night Eye image space modification set should be used.
Just a little ESP. Should not conflict with any mod that does not edit Night Eye
No script at all, just replaces the vanilla game image space file. There are no conflicts with SKSE or SkyUI (as far as I know).
Conflict: Edit anything with Night Eye Image spatial effects. So no other night vision mode will work unless they add a new structure.
Load after NAT or other mods that edit nighteye directly and it will overwrite them.
Also available as a spell, separate from Nighteye Power and Imagespace.
Or as a lesser power, separate from the normal racial powers.
This is a separate download so it does not interfere with Nighteye power. It uses the Base game Nighteye script, but calls the new image space. This only applies to spells and does not change the script in any way. Please find the book of spells/powers on Farengar's desk in Dragonsreach or on the rock behind the Guardian Stone. The Tome is an illusion spell marked by the subtle Night Eye spell.
*Most ENBs cover all image space, thus rendering this and any other night eye mode inoperable. Please test if it works. I can't change the ENB overlay.

Faint green tint. Set to value 2 so as not to wash colors out, just a slight difference in tone that helps define shapes.

Good brightness to help with dark environments. But still retains the sense of nocturnal vision.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
