About this mod Machine translation

Fixed blackface bugs appearing in many NPCs in the Stormcloak for Good Guys mod.

introduce:

Stormcloak for Good Guys is a really cool mode as it gives players some extra options and allows you to help NPCs in Windhelm in a more impactful way than before. Unfortunately, many of the new NPCs have a blackface bug.

The NPCs in question are all the different soldiers who join the Imperial and Stormcloak armies. There are now Argonians, Khajiit, Redguard and various elves in the army as well as some new enemy classes such as Stormcloak Warbears and Stormcloak Shieldmaidens. While running around in Skyrim, the blackface bugs of these characters became very apparent (as you see them in their barracks and when a royal squad escorts a captured Stormtrooper soldier) so I tried a few things. My knowledge of Creation Kit is very limited, but luckily I can export facial data for all these NPCs.

Install and uninstall mods:

First, be sure to click here to get the original mod!

Install Stormcloak for Good Guys and this mod using the mod manager of your choice, or install it manually by placing the contents from the archive into the Skyrim directory.

Uninstalling this mod manually shouldn't be too difficult, but since you have to go through a lot of folders until you find the "Goodstormcloaks.esp" folder inside the Textures and Meshes folders, I recommend using a mod manager. Uninstalling using the mod manager of your choice is normal.

Final words:

Be sure to give the original mod a nod and show some love to Mordivier2, the creator of Stormcloak for Good Guys!

Introduction:

Stormcloak for Good Guys is a really cool mod because it gives the player some extra choice and allows you to help out the NPC's of Windhelm in a more impactful way than before. Unfortunately, many of the newly added NPC's in the mod have a black face bug present.

The NPC's in question are all of the different soldiers added in the Imperial and Stormcloak armies by this mod. There are now Argonian, Khajiit, Redguard and varying Elves in both armies and some new enemy classes such as Stormcloak Warbears and Stormcloak Shieldmaidens. When running around in Skyrim, the black face bug on these characters becomes pretty gosh darn noticeable (because you see them in their army camps as well as when there is an Imperial squad escorting a captured Stormcloak soldier) so I tried doing something about it. My knowledge regarding the Creation Kit is extremely limited but fortunately, exporting face gen data for all of these NPC's is something that I can do.

Installation and Uninstalling the mod:

First and foremost, make sure to get the original mod by clicking here!

Install both Stormcloak for Good Guys and this mod with your mod manager of choice or install it manually by dropping the contents in the archive into your Skyrim directory.

Uninstalling this mod manually shouldn't be too hard but it gets really tedious as you have to go through a lot of folders until you find the "Goodstormcloaks.esp" folder in your Textures and Meshes folders so I recommend using a mod manager. Uninstalling with your mod manager of choice is done like normal though.

Final Words:

Make sure to endorse the original mod and show some love to Mordivier2, the creator of Stormcloak for Good Guys!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
