Improve the appearance and behavior of Stenvar.
Stenvar is one of my favorite Skyrim fans. This mod makes the following changes that (in my opinion) make him better:
- Stenvar has a new, youthful look; he's still a bearded guy, but he's not as gaunt anymore.
- Stenvar's default equipment is now clothing instead of steel armor, meaning he will wear any armor you give him (note that in the screenshot, he is wearing iron).
- Stenvar is now essential.
- Stenvar will be equal to you from level 10 all the way to level 81.
- Stenvar will now use any bow you give him - you can remove and sell his default hunting bow (this actually applies to all minions).
Stenvar has been updated and tested for use in Skyrim SE and Skyrim VR. Stenvar's face can also be downloaded as a playable male preset here: Better Male Presets.
These screenshots were taken with Oldrim wearing Blades Armor redesigned by Inosite and Gattis original Gattis Belt Collar modified by SourAndSweet.
It's easy for me to miss details and make silly mistakes, so if you spot any issues please leave a comment.

- Stenvar will level with you from 10 all the way up to 81.
- Stenvar will now use whatever bows you give him--- you can remove and sell his default hunting bow (this actually applies to all followers).

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
