"A group of stoneworkers, craftsmen, and engineers. They invented machines and built elaborate underground cities where they studied the power to rival the gods. Then, we're still not sure when they disappeared. Entire people, all at once. Only their creations remain."
Why did I create this?
In my opinion, the dungeons and ruins in Skyrim are generally weak. They are too straightforward and difficult to traverse. Exploration is not the same thing because there is only one way. In a game that's primarily about dungeon crawling, that's not fun. Dungeons should be challenging, confusing and fun. Steep Slope Cave is a very small dungeon without much activity. I always wondered what would happen. This is my mini expansion of the dungeon, adding a new secret area.
What was added?
A new area of exploration. Everything added is in keeping with the theme of the original dungeon, and I've been working on being lore-friendly. I want my creations to be indistinguishable from the vanilla game. I was also careful not to add too much loot that would increase the player's wealth and power, but players should still be able to find some rewards. The Steep Cave should now be about 10 minutes longer.
What I want to achieve
A fun new experience that both new and experienced players can enjoy. I want to encourage exploration and curiosity. There might be something behind that corner, you just need to check it out.

Why did I create this?
Dungeons and ruins in Skyrim are generally underwhelming in my opinion. They are way too straight forward and made to be easily traversed. Exploration isn't a thing as there is only one path. That isn't fun in a game primarily about dungeon delving. Dungeons should be challenging, confusing and interesting. Steepfall Burrow is a very small dungeon with not that much going on. I always wondered what could have been. This is my mini-expansion to the dungeon which adds a new secret area.

A new area to explore. Everything added fits with the theme of the original dungeon, I always strive to be lore-friendly. I want my creations to be indistinguishable from the vanilla game. I have also taken care to not add to much loot as to not inflate the players wealth and power but there should still be some rewards for the player to find. What I want to achieve
An interesting new experience ideal for both new and returning players. I want to encourage exploration and curiosity. Something could be behind that corner, you just have to check.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
