describe
Have you ever wondered why Jarls in Skyrim never really punished
Criminals, poachers and deserters? Well, think no more! This mod adds
There are gallows in every city in Skyrim and provide much needed darkness
Missing fantasy atmosphere.
Hanging is a deterrent and grim symbol of high righteous power
(The French word for gallows, potential, comes from the Latin word "potentia", meaning "power")
Old engravings of many European cities show permanent gallows erected on a famous hill outside the walls,
or more often near a castle or other seat of justice.
compatibility
All skeleton models should be valid unless the neck node is changed
If you use The Great Cittys, I noticed there is some minor clipping in the winterhold, but it still works.
Known issues
When the player quickly enters the cell containing the gallows, the corpse will turn around
Sometimes people who hang up are naked (I'm using CBBE)
The body sometimes doesn't rock or just goes wrong.
Sometimes the body was completely lost from the gallows.
If someone has enough experience to solve these problems, ChrisKley and I would be very grateful.
Extensions planned by the original author
- Add the gallows in the wilderness
- Add a gallows to the military camp
- Added Gallows at Thalmor Embassy

Description
Have you ever wondered why the Jarls of Skyrim never really punish
criminals, poachers and deserters? Well, wonder no more! This mod adds
gallows to every single city in Skyrim and provides the much needed dark
fantasy atmosphere that was missing.
Gallows act as a deterrent and grim symbol of the power of high justice
(the French word for gallows, potence, stems from the Latin word potentia, meaning "power")
Many old prints of European cities show such a permanent gallows erected on a prominent hill outside the walls,
or more commonly near the castle or other seat of justice.
Compatibility
All skeleton mods should work unless the neck node was altered
I have noticed some minor clipping in winterhold if you use The Great Cittys but it is still working.
Known Issues
- corpses twirl around when the player fasttravels into the cell containing the gallows
- The people that got hung sometimes are completly naked (i am using CBBE)
- The bodys sometimes dont sway or just bug out.
- Sometimes the bodys are missing completly from the gallows.
If someone is experienced enough to fix these issues ChrisKley and I would be very gratefull.
Expansions planed by the original author
- Add gallows to the wilderness
- Add gallows to the military camps
- Add gallows to the Thalmor Embassy

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
