introduce
Another weird idea I chased for a day or two until I gave up and threw a few weeks into development until the first release - what if there was a way to track your movement in Skyrim? This part is inspired by the SSE Journal mod, which I'll add later. It's still a bit experimental, but my testing so far proves it works, so I can share it as well. Have fun trying it, but don't expect too much (yet) :)
feature
Retrace your movements in the Skyrim open world space.
Clear, save, load or share your tracks.
You can rescale fonts and track size and color
View the current time and location, adjust the sampling speed or consider merging the distance of two sample points... yes, that's about it for now.
Require
Apparently not everyone followed on the requirements tab so I mentioned the required mods explicitly.
SSE ImGui
SSE GUI
SSE hooks
Remark
map
After spending a lot of time finding the right map, I arrived at the one seen on the screenshot. It seems to be used everywhere and is more or less correct in terms of coordinates (or maybe my triangulation isn't right). It might be nice if one with higher resolution and coordinated correct features existed somewhere... Anyway, in practice it's useful, so it's bundled in.
Another thing worth emphasizing again is that the map is only available in Skyrim's open world. If you know of license maps from other worlds that are good, large enough, properly coordinated, and compatible with other worlds (e.g. Markarth, Sovngrade, Solstheim), we can include them as well. Internal battery support is also available.
map navigation
Now, I'm not a game developer, so my first map campaign is currently a roadblock. I'll try to improve it, but not sure when and what the results will be. This doesn't mean it won't work, but you may encounter situations where dragging doesn't work. Try faster movements, or zoom out and back^^'
Tracking history
The mod will sample your position and game time at specific intervals without any correlation to your current game state. That is, if you load the game from an earlier time, it will rewrite your history because your loaded game time will be "earlier" than your previous one. This also means that if you load the game in the future, your audio track will suddenly jump to your current location. It's better to manage it manually using the "Save As" and "Load" buttons.
If you want to continue from where you started the game, be careful to load previous tracks!
Install, reinstall, upgrade, uninstall, after install, after install, without install
freely. This mod (and journal) is not tied in any way to your game saves, game state, or anything else. You can add and delete at any time. If there are specific upgrade procedures, they will be mentioned on this page. So far, the changes are compatible and nothing special needs to be done.
Now, it's worth mentioning that this mod is closely tied to the way it sniffs game time and player location. This is done by knowing where certain data fields are located in Skyrim's memory. So if your SE runtime changes (currently 1.5.73) it may no longer work. New versions of the mod should be released with a fixed address, or the SSE Hooks json mapping file must be updated (available soon).

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
