About this mod Machine translation
Changed the Spell Bibliography to no longer teach spells, but instead teach archetypes used in spell research.
I really like the Spell Research of the mod, but the problem I feel is that it is still possible to buy spellbooks from mages, thus bypassing the entire mod. This mod aims to solve this problem. The Spellbook will no longer teach you this spell. Instead, they teach you the prototypes used in spelling research. You still have to write the required essays and compose a spell in Spell Research. I feel like this adds to your immersion because you're no longer eating spell books. They are just another book. Instead, you read about the spell, then start practicing and experimenting on your own.
I've tried to make the spelling text as intellectually friendly as possible, but if anyone spots any glaring errors please let me know.
Currently only Skyrim plus DLC is supported. The goal is to include all popular spell mods supported by Spell Research.

I really love the mod Spell Research, but the problem I felt is that the entire mod could be circumvented by still buying spell tomes from mages. This mod aims to fix that. Spell tomes will no longer teach you the spell. Instead they will teach you the archetypes used by spell research. You still have to write the theses needed, and compose a spell in Spell Research. I feel this adds to immersion as you no longer eat spell books. They're just another book. Instead you read about the spell and then go practice it and experiment with it on your own.
I've tried to make the spell tome text as lore-friendly as possible though if anyone finds any glaring errors please let me know.
Currently only Skyrim plus the DLCs is supported. Goals are to include all the popular spell mods supported by Spell Research.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
