Have you ever wanted to play a character who stole the skills of someone else like Shang Tsung or Chrollo Lucilfer? Are you tired of having to go to town and buy spell books to learn good spells as you try to play an evil wizard who is an outcast from society? Then look no further! This experimental mod adds the ability for you to steal NPC spells.
feature:
New feature: Spell Stealing, allowing you to permanently learn NPC spells
Learn up to 50 NPC spells at a time
Individual spells stored by this mod can be deleted at any time in the MCM
Stolen spells can be equipped with one or two hands without changing the AI's behavior
Stolen spells are marked with the appropriate spellcasting skill
Assign a magic school to a stolen spell that is not yet associated with a magic school
Customize:
Skill Requirements: When enabled, you can only steal spells within your skill level, for example you need a Destruction skill of at least 25 to steal Firebolt
Level-Based Spell Slots: When enabled, you can store up to X spells at a time, where X is the player's level (or 50, whichever is less)
Made "Steal Spell" less powerful: By default, "Grab Spell" can only be used once per day. Enabling the "Reduce Power Consumption" option allows you to cast multiple times a day at the expense of Magicka
Show/hide magic school assignment dialog when stealing spells that don't have a magic school associated with them
Where is Scrabble?
Once your character reaches level 8 or higher, the Book of Magic can be found randomly in the Warlock boss chest with a low probability. There is also a guaranteed copy

But I've heard of NPC freaks! I don't want to be weird!
Yes, but technically this mod adds a copy of the NPC spell that has been modified to remove some of the weird properties you normally see in NPC spells. For example, many NPC spells can only be equipped on the left (or right) hand. The script that runs when a new spell is added automatically checks to see if it is a one-handed spell and, if so, sets it up so that it can be cast with either hand. Since these operations are done on the copy and not the original, these changes only affect the player and do not interfere with the AI (after all, these spells are designed to be operated one-handed for some reason!). Likewise, if the spell doesn't have an associated School of Magic, you'll be prompted to assign one, with the appropriate casting perk assigned. If you feel like your spell book is getting cluttered, you can delete some of your stolen spells via the MCM menu!
Can spell pieces be stolen?
absolute! Assuming these spells are equipped by an NPC and have at least one magic effect and a non-zero magicka cost, no patch is required.
Known issues:
You may get spells with duplicate names or the same appearance. The mod will differentiate spells based on the form ID, for example if there are 3 spells with the same level, cost, etc. of Fire Bolt, but different form IDs, they will be considered different and you can steal all three spells. Since the spells are copied and modified, it may not seem obvious to the player, but in fact, one may be a right-hand-only variation, while the other may be a left-hand-only variation. Solve this problem by using MCM to remove unwanted duplicate spells.
If you steal a concentration spell that has nothing to do with a magic school and designate it as a secondary power by selecting "No School" in the dialog menu, the spell will break its cooldown almost immediately when you try to use that secondary power. Solve this problem by assigning magic schools.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
