About this mod Machine translation

Simple mod that adds a control system for weapon speed, preventing speed errors that can sometimes occur with certain buff or perk effects.

There is no longer super high weapon speed or slowdown effects when adding weapon speed buffs.

Have you ever run into a speed-boosting issue that causes your character to turn into a whirlwind of death after adding a single perk (or vice versa), and end up with a character that's nearly impossible to fight because the strike animation is so slow that it doesn't last for about a minute before you can even swing a sword?

Have you tried building other weapon speed fixes into the mod, but these just result in doing nothing or making the situation worse?

Well, you can say goodbye to speed issues.

I did this to help control the weapon speed issues I was experiencing.

A long time ago I used revitalization mods including SPERG and Ordinator, not even the combo, and SPERG alone didn't work for me in terms of weapon speed.

To be more precise, the second one I added was the double flurry perk, where my character's speed went from a reasonable pace to a whirlwind of death at an almost unwatchable animation speed.

This is obviously convenient, but it looks ugly, is a mistake, and feels wrong.

The cause of this is a known design bug that sets the weapon's starting speed to 0, but determines the decimal number for the debuff, and the debuff only starts at 1+

So if you use any buff that doesn't change the speed to "1.

Most mods that tamper with weapon speed you can try your own modifiers and give a buff like "+1.4" or 2 buffs of "+1.0" and "+0.4" and it will work, but the problem is with one of these mods you may end up with crazy speed values like "5.6". Before creating this model I tried all possible configurations from other mods but nothing worked for me.

So what this mod does is monitor your current weapon speed and dynamically change it so that it never goes above the established limit or drops below the baseline (making sure the buff works as expected, but doesn't go over the line)

This limit is configurable by the MCM within reasonable values.

This mod is experimental. It works like a charm for me and I've been using it for a few months, but I'm not sure if it's as perfect as all mods out there.

I haven't tested this much, but I think one drawback of this design is that it removes the chance of you suffering an actual weapon slowdown effect by intentional design, which is so rare that I don't think I've ever seen one with the right fit. Why? Because the monitor system on this mod expects your base speed to be 1.0 and counts any buffs from there, if it sees your speed is below 1.0 it will always change it to 1.0.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
