I wish Bethesda had done this a long time ago...
As mentioned above in the introduction, this mod is about balancing the different shouts and their user's spells, creating a lore-friendly experience while providing missing voices for the various shouts of different NPCs.
Mods are divided into different parts. In each section, I'll gloss over specific details as well as compatibility.
Howl
Every shout is fully customized in a better and more realistic way. From cooldowns to effects, I've balanced them almost perfectly, you don't even need any details about the changes made, you can simply see them in the game. But don't worry I'll include the full changes in the reading section.
Significant changes, worth mentioning...
Bend Will will work on all creatures, even undead. This can produce some amazing effects that you may have never seen before. Enjoy walking in draugr like you are a human being.
Frustration will now become a real dragon cry. We were all very disappointed with the vanilla version of this shout, which was just a copy of the illusion spell. But now it will work on higher level creatures up to level 35, and will terrorize the undead, making it a real shout of convenience. It now also has the secondary effect of preventing victims from regenerating, regardless of whether they flee.
These meaningless ancient dragonfolk won't magically help you when you're low on health and shout with the Dragon Aspect. (The ancient dragon concept makes no sense and it's best not to see him again.)
Drain Vitality will now absorb the victim's life force.
Very importantly, most of the shouts don't apply to DWARVEN at all. Many people already have what works for them, but I've added the rest as well.
Aura Whisper (because it shouldn't detect anything non-living.)
Drain vitality (because it shouldn't drain [now absorb] any life force from the robots. They simply don't have it.)
Marked for Death (the armor penalty remains the same but the health status will not apply to them.)
Bend Will, Ice Form, Dismay, Disarm, Frost Breath, Soul Tear... are all useless to them. You probably already know this.
Compatibility: No items that edit any shout effects and cooldowns may be used. Trust me, you won't need anything else either.
DRAGONS
After Shouts we have to come to their legitimate users. Despite the differences in power and level, it's always disappointing to see dragons using only a handful of the same shouts. But now, dragons have all kinds of cries to hunt you down. Depending on their level, they can use things like Disarm, Frustration, Ruthless Power, Ice Form, Soul Rip or even become a Cry of the Void. (AI based) (Along with Breath of Fire and Breath of Frost...of course. I don't want to reveal everything, find all the games yourself.)
Not just here, their cry is full of voices that like dragons they will speak words of power. Will increase immersion beyond your expectations..
Paarthurnax, Alduin and Odahviing have unique sounds.
All other dragons have similar sounds.
In the battle above, Alduin doesn't use all of his shouts. Then there is only AI + depending on when you enter the battle, what kind of situation is created.
There is some better information, the dragon version of the cry is different from the dragon roar. For example a dragon's Unrelenting Force has different levels depending on which dragon is using it as opposed to a dragon family that only has one dragon.
In short, stronger dragons will use more deadly shouts. careful. !
Compatibility: Any other mod that edits Dragon's Shout or any shout-related vanilla Dragon speller should be avoided. I would recommend mods to boost dragon stats and give them new combat abilities and animations.
DRAUGRS
Just like dragons, draugrs need my help. Not much, but now …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
