Added unique soaps to many hotels in Skyrim
What's this
Inn Soaps is my attempt at using the wonderfully unique soap textures and grids from Amelli which you can find here.
Since no one has modified models from textures yet, I thought I would give it a try.
This is a port of my LE version of the mod. The standalone part of the module has been ported, and a Keep It Clean compatible version has also been added. A compatible version of Bathing in Skyrim has also been added, but it needs to be tested to see if it meshes with Bathing in SSE. The esp file has been converted to support SSE format, the meshes and textures have been converted/optimized, and the esp file has been marked as esl to not take up any load order slots.
what does it do
This esp file adds 10 hotel soaps produced by Amelli to its corresponding hotel's supplier list. I have added 5 of each soap to the list which will be regenerated.
The soap has been added directly to the hotel's merchant container, which means it will be compatible with all flattened listings since no flattened listings are created or changed. However, this mod will not be compatible with any other mod that changes merchant status unless you patch it yourself in TES5Edit (which is actually very easy to do).
Currently, this mod can only perform other actions. So the only thing you need to be aware of is other mods that add items to the 10 merchant chests in the inn.
In order to actually purchase soap from the shopkeeper, you will need the "Merchant" perk. That's because soap is a "miscellaneous" item, and shopkeepers will only sell you food and ingredients until you get the "merchant" perk, which will also allow you to buy and sell other types of items.
Of course, you can always add them directly to your inventory using the console.
The size of the soap texture is 2k.
Take a bath and stay clean in Skyrim
Soon after, another author ported Bath from Skyrim to SSE, which didn't seem to catch my attention. Unfortunately, I don't use that mod right now, which makes it difficult for me to make Inn Soaps compatible with the current version of Bathing in Skyrim SSE. XxSAWCEDxX also went and converted my Bathing in Skyrim files, so thanks to him again. However, neither he nor I have tested this version in SSE, so if it also works with Bathing in SSE it may also need to be tested since I originally created the file for LE.
'Keep Clean' is another bathing mode for SSE. XxSAWCEDxX Had trouble making a "Keep Clean" compatible version of this module, it can be found under Optional Files, if using the "Keep Clean" module please use that version instead. Cheers and thank you!
future plans
-If I could keep using the Keep It Clean bath mod, I might consider giving my special soaps some special effects like they do in the LE version, as well as some minor tweaks. But again, don't hold your breath.
credit
-Many thanks to XxSAWCEDxX for making a compatible version of Bath in Skyrim and keeping it clean
-Many thanks to DrMonops for helping me integrate soap with Bathing in Skyrim
- Of course this small mod wouldn't be possible without the work Amelli has done and her soap textures - find them here
- Kudos to InsanitySorrow for also creating the original soap

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
