This is a simple replacement for the default khajiit tail model. It adds a "fluffy" khajiit tail to both male and female khajiit.
This brings the fluffy tail to Skyrim from my Snow Leopard Forgotten Edition mod. This is set to add tails to all Khajiit in the game (including players).
Details:
Replace maletailkhajiit.nif and femaleetailkhajiit.nif with new versions
Create new texture sets for use with new .nif models.
There are some non-standard things to do with this, such as combining model space and tangent space normal maps. I want to report a problem
The dark area near the base is a compromise for light. It seems that because it is "pointed upward" the light reflects off of it in strange ways.
from the rest of the body and tail. Darker colors will lessen the effect without giving a noticeably different shine.
The fluffy tail will appear on any Khajiit using vanilla assets, including companions like Inigo.
1.1: Reworked texture to give a less uniform look, plus white tail tips.

The darkened area near the base is a compromise with lighting. It seems that, since it is "facing up," lights reflect from it in odd ways
from the rest of the body and tail. The dark color reduces the effect while not giving it a clearly different sheen.
Fluffy tails will appear on any Khajiit that uses vanilla assets, including companions like Inigo.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
