SKYWATER_survival
Skywater_survival adds basic functionality for using and consuming water to SkyrimSE. Water will quench thirst and hunger, can be used to make hot drinks, add warmth, and increase your health and stamina.
Basic functions
With SKYWATER_survival you can fill buckets and bottles with water from any natural water source. Additionally, you can build new water sources and mark anywhere inside and/or outside as a new water source. Place a water source in your player's home or mark a fountain as a new water source.
Likewise for mining or wood cutting, you must use in-game items as tools to obtain water. Valid items for obtaining water are buckets and empty bottles, or, if you just want to drink, any type of wine glass.
In contrast to wood cutting using the SKYWATER_survival activated cutting block, you must activate the project to start the process. Simply open your inventory menu and activate (equip) a valid item while near a water source or standing in the water. This will start the fetch, pick up or loot animation and fill your barrel/bottle. Or, if you use a stemware, it will sit idle. This activation method is always used for all mod items and vanilla items supported by the mod.
In addition to the basic functionality of obtaining water, SKYWATER_survival adds the following items and features to the game:
Bottled water for crafting, cooking and refilling empty bottles
Drinking water from a bottle restores stamina and hunger in survival mode
Water in kettles and cooking pots used in recipes and cooking
Water as distilled water, used in potion making and cooking food
Recipes for survival hot drinks to restore health and warmth in survival mode
Water gems as magic stones that hold new water sources
Water-filled buckets and invisible markers that can be placed as new water sources
Detailed overview
Valid items for obtaining water are barrels, empty wine bottles, empty water bottles, and wine glasses. Using a bucket at a water source will play an animation and fill the empty bucket with empty water. Same goes for empty bottles. This mod replaces empty bottles with drinking water (food). Using a goblet at a water source will allow your character to drink at their leisure, quenching thirst and hunger.
Water in a bucket is the basic model for crafting and cooking. Fill buckets weigh 6 or 10, depending on which bucket you use. You can fill any in-game bucket with water.
With a bucket in your inventory, you can refill empty bottles and fill kettles and cooking pots with water. You can store water in any container. If you drop a bucket filled with water, you will simply throw away the water and receive an empty bucket. If you're using buckets at your crafting station, the same logic applies.
You can use an empty wine bottle and fill it with water. Once filled with water, you will have drinking water. Consuming water in a bottle will empty the bottle and replace it with an empty water bottle.
Drinking water is a basic food. Drinking water (slim bottle) has a weight of 1 and restores some stamina and hunger. Drinking water (round bottle) has a weight of 2 and provides double the stamina and hunger. The Big Water Bottle weighs 5 and has great stamina and hunger. In addition to drinking, you can also use bottled water for cooking. Fill a small pot with a small bottle of drinking water. Fill a medium-sized cooking pot with a round bottle of drinking water.
Empty bottles will be sold by your trusted supplier or can be crafted at any smelter. To make a bottle you need to melt glass, which you can get by melting empty wine bottles or empty water bottles or glass. Some bottles require coal, which you can get for free at any smelter.
If you want to cook with water, you must put it in a kettle or cooking pot. A kettle wi …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
