Get dirty while exploring Skyrim. Take a shower and wash again.
SKYWATER_bathing
Basic functions
SKYWATER_bathing makes your character dirty over time. Go for a swim or take a shower and wash again.
In survival mode, being dirty makes your character more resistant to the cold. The dirtier you are the more resistant you are to the cold. Dirty you will be able to resist freezing water for one minute.
There are five stages of filth: fresh, clean, dirty, filthy and filthy. Dirt effects are applied to the player character's skin over time. Each dirt layer has its own unique 4k texture for dirt effects.
After installing and activating the mod, you will have 3 soap bars in your inventory to start cleaning. After 10 playtimes you'll be stained, and after 10 playtimes you'll be dirty. It takes another 24 game hours before you get dirty.
Swimming in water for more than 10 seconds will clean you one level (reduce the dirty phase). You can get clean by swimming repeatedly but you won't get updated rewards.
SKYWATER_bathing allows you to bathe in any natural water source and any sky water source. Additionally, if you have a bucket of water in your inventory, you can take a shower without a water source.
Bathing removes all dirt and gives you updated rewards for the next 4 in-game hours. Carefully designed rewards will increase your skills by 10% and restore fatigue in survival mode. After that, the process starts over again in the cleaning phase for the next 10 game times, and so on.
When taking a shower, you must open the inventory menu and activate (equip) a bar of soap. This will cancel your player character and start the shower animation. Soap will be sold by your trusted vendors or can be crafted at any cooking station.
The player undressing process is slot-oriented: by default, the slots for rings, amulets, circles, and ears are undressed. If you want to change the strip bath settings or dirt timer, you can use the SkywaterBathing.txt file in the SkyrimSE data directory.
Compatibility and requirements
This mod does not change any game assets. So, there should be no conflicts or incompatibilities!
Thanks to goesto Stroti and Tamira for the modder's resource Stroti Resource Pack II for Skyrim SE, I took the soap from there.
SKYWATER_bathing is made for SkyrimSE and requires SKSE and SKYWATER_survival. It is meant to be played in survival mode (cc survival mode plugin is not a mod requirement).
SKYWATER_bathing is a lightweight master file (.esl) so it does not count against the plugin limit. Place it after SKYWATER_survival and before any esp in the plugin list.

SKYWATER_bathing
Basic Features
SKYWATER_bathing makes your character dirty over time. Go swimming or take a bath to get clean again.
Dirtiness makes your character more resistant to cold in survival mode. The more dirty you get the higher you can resist cold. Being filthy you will be able to resist freezing water for a minute.
Dirtiness has five stages: refreshed, clean, soiled, dirty and filthy. Dirt effects are applied to player character’s skin over time. Each dirt tier has its individual 4k texture for the dirt effect.
Having installed and activated the mod you will start clean with 3 pieces of soap in your inventory. After 10 game time hours you will get soiled and after another 10 game time hours you will get dirty. Being dirty it takes another 24 game time hours before you will get filthy.
Swimming in water for more than 10 seconds will clean you one tier down (reduces dirtiness stage). You can get clean by repeatedly swimming but won’t get the refreshed bonus.
SKYWATER_bathing lets you take a bath at any natural water source and at any skywater-made water …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
