About this mod Machine translation
The edited version of mapmarkerart.swf from Skyui5.2 not only adds color to quest, player location and discovered capital map markers.
Skyrim SE updates:
Since this file is just an edited skui mapmarkerart.swf file, it will work equally well with skui 5.1 for le and skui 5.2 for se. This mod is compatible with Skyui maps as long as the same file is not replaced. The original le mod is located here, but although the archive name is different, the content is exactly the same. The old v1.0 is now called option 2 and the old v1.1 is now the main file.
Why:
I wanted to find a way to make the quest markers stand out on the map, but could only find some mode that colored all the markers that I personally didn't like. After not being able to find what I was looking for, I decided to tackle the problem myself and share it at the request of a poster on Reddit.
Description - Main File:
This is just an edited mapmarkerart.swf with the following changes:
- Mission and player position markers are colored aqua (R:0, B:255, G:255)
-The five main capital markers are found to be light yellow (R:240, B:240, G:100)
- Four smaller caps marks are found in light yellow (r:240, b:240, g:150)
- Common town markers found are even lighter yellow (r:240, b:240, g:200)
Instructions - Option 2:
Make the following changes to the main file:
-Four smaller uppercase markers found to be slightly yellowish (r:240, b:240, g:200)
- Common town markers found are not colored at all
Instructions - Option 3: (Courtesy of Waylander47)
Make the following changes to the main file:
Water markers (missions, player locations) replaced with light blue markers.
There are images for both options so you can decide which one you prefer before downloading. When looking at images I have several towns added with mods, keep in mind so you may not have as many generic town markers as you do in my images. Update: Since others have lots of extra locations, I've added two new pictures comparing the option of just using normal locations.
Please note that the main file can be downloaded using the download button above. If you wish to download option 2 or 3, go to the "Files" tab.
Require:
You must have Skyui 5.2se to use it. Let this mod cover it.
Thanks:
-Bethesda, I spent too much time playing several games
-The SKSE team, both for their amazing original work and for spending a lot of time and effort porting it to SE
-Skyui Team, for a great mod, I can't play SE for more than a few hours without
-Waylander47, sharing his personal edit

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
