Here is a workaround, I had this problem when I had a very shiny shine on a diffuse texture produced by facegen Modeller or a custom generated Diffuse texture, this tutorial is short but there are tons of images to follow to solve this problem. Asked many mod community for help and they couldn't explain this problem. So finally I found a solution with the help of another modder from the community and I decided to create this short but fun tutorial. Of course, this tutorial is aimed at amateur modders other than myself. But I'm certainly different from the old hands in that whenever I learn something new, I write it down on paper for all the community to learn from. enjoy your meal
Let's call it the problem now: shiny diffuse texture error
——————————————————————————————
this is a fix for an issue with the Diffuse texture having a very shiny glow on it when its a custom Diffuse texture generated by facegen Modeller or custom made I had this issue the tutorial is short but plenty of images to follow to fix the problem I requested help from many of the mod community and they could not explain this issue. so eventually I found a fix by assistance from another Modder in the community so then I decided to create this short and sweet tutorial. of course this tutorial is aimed at Amateur Modders such as myself not veteran. but of course I am different to the veteran modders each new thing I learn I write down on paper for all the community to learn too. enjoy
Lets call the Problem for now: The Shiny Diffuse Texture Bug
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
