Lantern for Skyrim SE – MCM Version
This is a port of the Skyrim MCM version to Special Edition Lanterns. Of course I had permission from MannyGT.
Oldrim LoS is here. and LoS SE here.
MCM function
It can now be customized to your needs using the Menu Mod Configuration tool and is available in two versions.
Version A. In MCM: always on
Version B. In MCM: always off. (The lantern radius in version B is more realistic in my opinion)
Version B works similarly to version A, so you can uncheck that option and use Hours On/Off.
*Hour to turn on the lantern. (Default is 7pm)
*Time to turn off the lantern. (Default is 7am)
*Timer for checking lanterns.
*Debug mode switch. (modder resource)
- Enable lantern toggle in villages. (as well as towns, settlements and outside units of major cities)
- Toggle enabled lanterns along roads.
Many thanks to Tarlazo for editing version B's MCM menu. Check out his mod. Highly recommend the convenience car!
Install
*Mod Organizer 2 is recommended
Load order
*In MO2, place the unofficial Skyrim Special Edition patch above the Light of Skyrim - All in One - Main.esm in the right panel.
*I highly recommend the Nordic Guide for the best SSE installation and Loadorder guides. It's so detailed and simply the best!!
compatibility
*Should be compatible with all lighting and weather mods.
*Not fully compatible with Claralux!! See below! !
*A nice addition to LoS is Lantern Caretakers SE. Make sure "Enable lanterns along roads" is enabled in the MCM menu.
Compatibility with Claralux
From the Claralux page. So you can decide for yourself whether you want to use both mods at the same time.
Is a subset of CLARALUX. If you still insist on using it, you can turn off the road light poles inside the test facility. CLARALUX will not control any lights added by this mod. Additionally, minor visual glitches occur due to the similar placement of small towns, villages, and farms.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
