Hate having to manually play games through the default launcher?
Want to rename your main Skyrim executable to fix this problem, but hate that you can't use xSHADOWMANx's Achievements Mods Enabler?
Well, you get the best of both worlds!
This particular situation bothered me and I finally decided to write a custom launcher to solve both of my problems.
Installation is a manual process, like the Achivements Mods Enabler, and cannot be installed through the Mod Manager.
To install, simply rename the old launcher (SkyrimSELauncher.exe) in the Skyrim base directory and drop it in.
Once started, it will close SkyrimSE.exe.
To uninstall, simply delete the custom launcher and rename the old launcher to SkyrimSELauncher.exe.
To make things easier, you want to know if you are using a custom launcher because its icon will be inverted (a black dragon on a white background).
I've also included the Visual Studio source code for the launcher. Requires .NET 2.0 or higher.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
