Simple Lighting Torch gives you simple torch handling via two configurable hotkeys: one for configuring and unconfiguring a torch from your inventory (plus a double click to place a torch), and another for placing a lit torch directly on the ground. The mod gives you the option to enable automatic torch handling if you want: automatically putting down torches and automatically equipping torches you pick up. Both of these situations can be further controlled to occur under certain conditions, such as whether a weapon is drawn during a sneak attack.

The modern SM Chandelier Torch designed by Strategy Master was the inspiration for this model. However, the implementation of simple DLT is completely original. For me, the process of processing the torch of SM Chandelier is a bit complicated, which inspired me to make and release my own experiment.

Configuration (MCM)

The mechanics added by the mod can be configured using mcm, allowing multiple toggles and settings. You need to bind hotkeys in MCM yourself to use the mod!

Bind the main torch hotkey (equipped/unequipped, double-click to drop) and the drop torch hotkey (drop the torch directly). By default, both hotkeys are unbound.

For example, if you have a weapon equipped on your flashlight hand (disabled by default), you can automatically drop the flashlight on UNEQUIP. If you only want to auto-fall with a drawn weapon, or prevent auto-fall while sneaking, please select further.

Enables automatic equipping of torches picked up from the ground (disabled by default). If you want to block an automatic with a drawn weapon, or while sneaking, further options are available.

If the player has a torch equipped (disabled by default), the restriction is enabled and the player can only drop the torch.

Installation, maintenance and disassembly

The following additional modes are required:

SKSE for SE (2.06+)

Install using any method, making sure both esp and bsa are in the data directory. By overwriting the old files, installing the new version should be seamless. Taking down Skyrim mods can be tricky (Bethesda doesn't offer support for this), but generally, it should be fine.

compatibility

Records of skyrim.esm or other base esm are not modified, only new content is added.

Compatibility issues may exist in the following mods, but are currently unconfirmed:

SM chandelier by Strategy Master. Both serve the same purpose. Disabling simple DLT's automation might allow both mods to work simultaneously.

Dragondude1029 equipment maintenance. Disabling simple DLT's automation might allow both mods to work simultaneously.

The mod SM Drop Lit Torches by Strategy Master was an inspiration to this mod. The implementation of Simple DLT is completely original, however. The torch handling flow was a bit too complicated in SM Drop Lit Torches for me, inspiring me to make and release my own attempt.
