describe
Simply Climb (a.k.a. I Shouldn't Be Here), is a very simple mod. How it works, you press a button (right control by default) and your character moves up a little and forward a little, at the cost of some stamina. If there's nothing blocking them, your character will fall to the ground. Holding and releasing the button further advances your character, but at the cost of more stamina. The Light Armor skill reduces the stamina required to climb. Climbing also gives Light Armor a small amount of experience. There aren't any animations, your character just floats there... It's recommended that you play this as first person. The climbing keys used can be configured in the Mod configuration menu.
Seriously, this is something that was just needed and has never been done by anything before, except for some Russians, I think. For some reason, they really like parkour. So anyway, I just decided to finish this in 3 hours and about 50 lines of code. You can't expand an entire wall with this, unless you're really good in Light Armor and have a lot of stamina, and have the patience to hold that button down for a long time. However, you can use it to overcome troublesome logs, houses or mountains. If you're smart and persistent, you can also do things like enter Jarl Balgruuf's dormitory without using the front door.
You shouldn't walk through walls or ceilings unless you're really determined. I say it shouldn't be, because Skyrim simply doesn't have rooftop running in mind for parkour. For example, while testing it, I discovered that you could walk across part of the roof of Dragon's Reach without any collision because the developers didn't expect someone to climb up the vodka-man like Jarl's Palace. You'll also find that some walls can't be scaled even with this one because their hitboxes are way outside the bounds of rendering...just...because.
Anyway, have fun. I'll see you in High Hrothgar.

In all seriousness, this was something that was just needed, and has never been done before at any capacity, except by some Russian guy, I think. They really like parkour for some reason. So anyway, I just decided to make this in 3 hours, with about 50 lines of code. You can't scale entire city walls with this, unless you're really good in Light Armor, and have a lot of Stamina, and have the patience to hold that button down a long time. If you're clever, and persistent, you can also do things like get into Jarl Balgruuf's quarters without using the front door.
You shouldn't be able to glitch through walls or ceilings, unless you're really determined. I say shouldn't, because Skyrim simply wasn't designed with roof-running parkour in mind. For example, while testing I discovered you can phase through a part of the Dragon's Reach roof, simply because there wasn't any collision there, because the d …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
