describe
Simple Taxes is a very simple mode that makes players pay for horses and houses on a weekly basis. Despite the basic idea, it has a lot of features, most of which come from its huge customizability. You can set the time between tax days, from anywhere to a day per in-game or a month per in-game. You can change the cost of owning a horse or house from 5 gold to 2000, and much, much more. Plus, there's a handy guide that explains all the features in the game for you. The simple tax greatly increases the immersion of the game and provides a very user-friendly way to maintain the large amounts of gold that Dovahkiin tends to collect.

Function details
The guide added to your player when the rental starts explains all the features, but I'll talk about them here as well, albeit a little quickly.
Time between tenancies:
Simple Taxes' slider in MCM allows you to set the amount of time between each rental day.
Home tax value:
You can set the gold value and every house is worth it. This value is multiplied by the number of homes you own.
Horse tax value:
You can set the gold value so each horse is worth it. This value is multiplied by the number of horses you own.
Follower tax value:
You can set the gold value so each minion is worth it. This value is multiplied by the number of followers you have. NOTE: This mod does not automatically detect follower numbers, you must do this manually in the menu.
Property taxes on houses:
You can turn your home's taxes on and off. When a home lease closes, no gold will be deducted on the home's tax date.
Property taxes for horses:
You can turn taxes on horses on and off. No gold coins will be deducted on horse's tax day when the house lease is closed.
Follower of property taxes:
You can turn taxes on your followers on and off. When a house lease is closed, no gold will be deducted for the horse's following day.
Debt system:
If you don't have enough money for tax day, the amount you can pay will be deducted from you and the amount you can't pay will be remembered. On the next tax day, any additional charges you did not pay last time will be added to your tax day charges. This effect stacks.
Debt system enabled:
If you don't want to use the debt system mentioned above, then you can easily turn it off via MCM and any money you are unable to pay will be forgotten.
Add guide:
If you lost the manual as a simple tax, you can add it back.
Manual compatibility:
Manually add house or horse taxes - so now your value-added horses/houses are taxable too!
Immersive taxation:
When enabled, couriers will charge taxes instead of automatically taking gold from your inventory.
Decline reward:
If you refuse to pay taxes and it is enabled, a bounty will be added to the r …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
